Fears over the coronavirus have reportedly led producers of The Real Housewives of New Jersey to halt filming on the series’ upcoming 11th season.
Following the suspension of Andy Cohen‘s talk show, Watch What Happens Live, and the early end of Erika Jayne‘s run as Roxie Hart in Broadway’s Chicago, a report claims filming on the new season of RHONJ, which is expected to include Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, Margaret Josephs, Jackie Goldschneider, and Jennifer Aydin, has been put on hold.
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 11 filming has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak,” the Real Housewives Franchise on Instagram announced on Friday.
According to the report, filming on the upcoming episodes was supposed to begin earlier this month, but because of the ongoing concerns about the coronavirus, production never got underway. And now, with schools closing, sporting events canceled, and large gatherings banned, the cast is unsure of when filming will begin.
“It is not known when production will begin for season 11 at this point,” the report shared.
Earlier this month, Hollywood Life confirmed all of the full-time housewives from RHONJ season 10 would be returning to the show for season 11.
“All of the ladies except for Danielle will be back for season 11 which will begin filming right away, as early as next week,” a source said at the time. “Production wants to keep the momentum going of what’s going on in everyone’s lives. They feel there are a lot of interesting things happening.”
Danielle Staub confirmed she would not be back during an appearance on WWHL in January.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s reunion for season 10 concludes with part three on Wednesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
