Flipping Out Star Jeff Lewis Calls Ex Gage Edward "Lonely" and "Lost" After Gage Breaks Silence Since Their Custody Battle, How Both Men Hope They Can Positively Co-Parent

Jeff Lewis had some choice words for his ex, Gage Edward, on Tuesday.

On the latest episode of his SiriusXM show Jeff Lewis Live, the Flipping Out star opened up about his ex and his speaking out about him on his Instagram Live over the weekend.

“I didn’t really understand the point of it,” Jeff said of Gage’s video stream, which marked the first time Gage has spoken about Jeff since the two split last year. “I thought it was rambling [and] didn’t seem to have a focus.”

Jeff added how his ex sounded “lonely” and shaded the idea of posting over the social media platform as “a little desperate.”

“It affected me very deeply, actually,” Jeff explained. “It affected my weekend because… I was with him for 10 years, I still care about him, even though he’s done a lot of s—ty things over the past year. I still care about him, I still want the best for him. You don’t stop caring.”

The former couple is currently waiting to settle a custody agreement for their daughter as Gage is suing Jeff for equal shared time and requested that her name be changed from Monroe Christine Lewis to Monroe Christine Edward Lewis.

Gage also filed a lawsuit against Jeff, requesting a return payment of $125,000 he previously loaned Jeff back in 2016.

In his Instagram Live, Gage noted how he was choosing to “take the high road” so as to not negatively his daughter’s perception of her other dad. He implied how doing this could affect the “long road ahead” the three have for her life.

“I don’t ever want to put Monroe in that position,” Gage said. “She’s going to have her own experience with her other dad. I’m not going to weigh in on it and I’m not going to influence it. I’ll never put her in that spot … I look at my daughter as if she’s 13, 14, 15, on Google one night, reading. And I’m not going to contribute to that.”

One thing the men seem to agree on is how going their separate ways was the right choice and how much they’ve grown from the experience.

“I personally have done a lot of changing as a result. And I don’t think that would have happened if we did not break up,” Jeff admitted. “It did happen for me. I think I’m a better parent as a result, I think I’m a better friend as a result, I think I’m a better boyfriend as a result. So it’s unfortunate that this had to happen the way it did, but there are positive things that came out of it.”

Although Jeff threw a little shade at his ex’s demeanor, he did admit that Gage seemed “calm [and] composed,” hinting at a new beginning for the two.

“I will tell you that’s not the person I’ve been dealing with for the past year, but I hope that this is maybe a shift and a new beginning; that maybe I’ll be dealing with somebody who is a little more rational,” Jeff confessed.
