Caroline Manzo is speaking out about the recent arrest of her brother-in-law, Tommy Manzo, who also happens to be her estranged sister Dina Manzo‘s ex-husband.
Days after Tommy was taken into custody after being accused of hiring a man to assault Dina’s current husband and then-boyfriend, Dave Cantin, in 2015 in exchange for a “deeply discounted” wedding at The Brownstone, which Tommy co-owns with Caroline’s husband, Albert Manzo, the former Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member reacted to the news.
“We are heartbroken,” Caroline admitted to Extra TV on July 1. “This is family on both sides. I want to know the truth and my allegiance will lie with the truth. We don’t run from things like this, we address them, and I feel comfortable with that because we are being painted with a brush that does not reflect who we are as people.”
In a statement shared by The U.S. Attorney’s Office, it was noted that Tommy had been charged with “committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering activity” after he allegedly hired a supposed mobster named John Perna to assault and “leave a permanent facial scar” on Dave in July 2015.
On Tuesday, via Zoom, Tommy pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Amid the drama, Dina and Dave surfaced on Instagram, where they shared photos of one another with their followers along with sweet messages about their anniversary.
“He puts his arms around me and I am home… 6•28 Happy Anniversary my love, forever is a looong time but I look forward to every minute of it with you,” Dina wrote in her June 28 post.
On Dave’s page, he wrote, “Happy Anniversary to the most amazing, beautiful, and incredible woman in the entire world. I will spend an eternity loving you, caring for you, respecting you, showing you every day that I hold you as high as the stars. I love you, baby!”

In response to her husband’s message, Dina shared a cheeky comment.
“Awww I cherish and adore you….you’ve made all my dreams come true my love… well still waiting on those fuzzy cows and some chickens but other than that you are perfect,” she said.
