Craig Conover is seeing someone new.
Three years after splitting from Naomie Olindo, the Southern Charm cast member is opening up about his new relationship with a mystery woman who he began dating during the coronavirus pandemic. He’s also sharing details about his relationship with new cast member Leva Nowroozyani Bonaparte as well as her ties to ex-cast member Cameran Eubanks.
“I met a girl in Aspen in January,” Craig confirmed on the October 31 episode of The Daily Dish podcast. “We were just friends and then during quarantine we started to chat like on Instagram and started to text.”
Because South Carolina was one of the first places to reopen earlier this year, Craig’s girlfriend chose to relocate from where she was living in Florida to Craig’s place in Charleston.
“She came up and we got to quarantine together, which was awesome,” he explained. “We just got to enjoy ourselves.”
“But learning how to be out of quarantine with each other has been the challenge,” Craig continued. “I thought if you can quarantine together, that means you’re fine because that’s what a lot of couples will struggle with, is being together all the time. But what you don’t realize is we were in the honeymoon phase in a bubble, protected from the outside world.”
“Now we’re dealing with regular stuff,” he added.
While Craig said that fans will be seeing him dating on the new season of Southern Charm, he noted that his new girl isn’t too fond of the cameras.
“She didn’t want to film at all. She was more the person like, ‘Well, that’s your thing,’ which is good because you don’t really want to date someone who wants to be on TV. The problem is, is then you’re sacrificing some stuff. I would have loved to show more but you get to see a little bit, which is good,” he teased.
After Craig and his new lady were able to come out of quarantine, they continued to live together for a bit before deciding to “take a step back.”
“You have to kind of reset and go back to normal life. So now we’re in normal people dating, which is good. And it’s fun. But, yeah, it did start to put a lot of pressure on things towards the end of it because we had only been dating for three months and were spending every day together,” he shared. “It definitely accelerates stuff.”
As for his thoughts on the new cast members of season seven, who include Leva and an upgraded Madison LeCroy, Craig said he was “excited” to see “some new girls” on the show before revealing that both he and Cameran have deep ties to Leva.
“Leva’s been in our life for 10 years. I’ve been friends with her. We owned a couple restaurants together. She was Cameran’s old roommate. So she’s always been in our lives and she’s actually been a big sister to me just like Cameran we just haven’t tracked that before.”
Southern Charm season seven airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
