Erika Jayne shared a cryptic post on her Twitter page just hours after she and her estranged husband Thomas Girardi were sued for supposedly embezzling settlement money from clients of his law firm amid a phony divorce.
After Edelson PC filed federal court documents against her and Thomas, who claimed to be parting ways last month, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member seemingly gave a nod to the legal “drama” she and the attorney are facing.
“High drama,” Erika tweeted on December 2, along with a photo of herself rocking a black strapless gown with her long hair draped over her shoulder.
On Wednesday, Erika and Thomas were accused of embezzling settlement funds awarded to the families of the victims of Lion Air Flight 610 who died in a 2018 crash in Edelson PC’s lawsuit against them.
They were also said to have done so because they “are on the verge of financial collapse and locked in a downward spiral of mounting debts and dwindling funds.”
“While Erika publicly filed for divorce this month, on information and belief, that ‘divorce’ is simply a sham attempt to fraudulently protect Tom’s and Erika’s money from those that seek to collect on debts owed by Tom and his law firm [Girardi Keese],” the court documents claimed.
Following Erika’s post, she received both backlash and support from her online audience.
“Making light of serious charges. Really gross, Erika,” one person wrote.
“Embezzling settlement funds owed to the relatives of PLANE CRASH VICTIMS to underwrite ‘a public image of obscene wealth’ is not a good look Hun – do better,” said another.
Meanwhile, a third person offered a supportive message to the RHOBH star.
“You [are] so beautiful and in my opinion classy,” they said. “Sorry to hear about your divorce but there is a reason for everything and [you] will [do] great on [your] next step in [your] life. Big hugs.”
Erika filed for divorce from Thomas after 21 years of marriage on November 3, citing irreconcilable differences, and later requested spousal support from her estranged husband.
“After much consideration, I have decided to end my marriage to Tom Girardi,” she said in a statement last month. “This is not a step taken lightly or easily. I have great love and respect for Tom and for our years and the lives we built together. It is my absolute wish to proceed through this process with respect and with the privacy that both Tom and I deserve. I request others to give us that privacy as well.”
Erika was previously married to Thomas Zizzo, the father of her 29-year-old son, police officer Tommy Zizzo, from 1991 to 1996.
