Melissa Gorga is admitting that her messy argument with husband Joe Gorga on the April 7 episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey wasn’t her proudest moment on the show.
Following their on-screen yelling match, Melissa acknowledged her embarrassment and explained the root of their marriage issues as Joe copped to being a “little b*tch.” They also looked back on the “Realtor Giselle” prank he attempted to play.
“I don’t think he thought I would put him on blast, but he hit me at the wrong [moment],” Melissa explained during the April 7 episode of the RHONJ: After Show. “I was just done at that point and it came out and it’s real and it’s true and my friends were there and I was embarrassed.”
After Melissa left a restaurant ahead of her husband, he was “triggered” to act out.
“That’s normally not Melissa. Normally, we’re always tied at the hip,” he shared. “A year ago, if she walked in front of me, no big deal. But at that six-month period, we were going through something in our relationship.”
According to Joe, Melissa was putting too much of her focus onto work and he was feeling a “little lost.” Meanwhile, according to Melissa, Joe was feeling stressed about her then-upcoming return to work.
“It was actually causing tension with us,” she stated.
“It’s no big deal that she walked in front of me. It was more about, ‘Listen, I want to hold your hand and I want to walk outside with you,’” Joe continued. “I was being more like the ‘little b*tch’ in the relationship because I like to spend time with my wife.”
In addition to their heated feud amongst their castmates, Melissa and Joe also found themselves in a potentially tense moment as a realtor named “Giselle” repeatedly called his phone in front of the group.
Luckily, Melissa quickly realized the seemingly troubling turn of events was nothing more than a prank.
“I start looking at everyone’s faces and I realize, we played this big prank on him in Lake George. I’m like, ‘These guys think I’m stupid,’” Melissa recalled. “They were so obvious. They were giggling. I was like, ‘Guys, you suck at this.’”
Although Melissa admitted there was a “split-second” where she considered calling “Giselle” back, she ultimately realized Frank Catania was the real “Giselle.”
“This is why everyone loves Joe,” Melissa responded. “At the end of the day, he doesn’t ever have a bad intention, even when he wants you to stay home and not move. It’s not because he wants to hurt you or because he doesn’t want you to be successful. He’s just like, ‘I just love you. Just stay right here.’ It’s hard to stay mad at him.”
As for Melissa’s response to the prank, Joe was thrilled to see that she was still the “jealous” woman he’s come to know.
“Anyone can call me. She’s like, ‘Who’s that?’ She’s very jealous,” he revealed. “When you have a man like me, she loses her mind.”
