It’s no secret that Ramona and Dorinda are not on the best of terms as Dorinda has had plenty to say about the OG in the last year. Of course, the Make It Nice author was fired from the show in August after six dramatic seasons, but according to Ramona, no one is missing her.
“When a cast member leaves, somehow we just pick up where it was left off and don’t really notice that they’re gone,” Ramona told Entertainment Tonight on April 27. “We’re all just like, cog in the wheel and… or a spoke in the wheel, and if one goes, the wheel keeps going. So it was fine.”
Nevertheless, though her former co-star has even compared her to Donald Trump, Ramona said she still has “respect for her as a person in a lot of ways,” and she truly “wishes the best for her.”
As for whether Ramona would like to see Dorinda return to the show, the 64-year-old doesn’t think that would be a good idea just yet. If fans recall, when Bravo confirmed that Dorinda was indeed fired, they actually referred to it as a “pause.” Therefore, it’s seemingly possible that the network will eventually ask Dorinda to return, but Ramona apparently thinks her ex-friend needs more time to sort her life out.
“I don’t know if she’s ready to come back,” she quipped.
Meanwhile, Ramona was also asked about Bethenny Frankel‘s engagement announcement, which came around the same time the season 13 trailer dropped. At the time, it was reported that the RHONY cast was upset with the Skinnygirl mogul for attempting to steal their thunder.
“They’re all confused why she’s still obsessed with RHONY and would orchestrate her engagement news to come out the same time as the trailer for the show,” a source told Page Six in March, adding, “Bethenny is just being her petty self, but she can’t take away the cast’s happiness or how hard they worked this season during the coronavirus pandemic.”
It seems the report was very accurate because Ramona claims Bethenney’s announcement was “very calculated.”
“Of course she did it on purpose!” she declared. “Come on, you know Bethenny very well.”
The Real Housewives of New York City season 13 is set to premiere May 4 on Bravo at 9/8c.
