Following the episode, after a number of her fans and followers on social media wanted to know more, the newest member of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills took to her Instagram Story to share details about what actually happened.
“I’m loving all these memes about my warrant story. Unfortunately, the real story isn’t that exciting and it happened 22 years ago,” Crystal began in her Story, as revealed by a screenshot shared by Queens of Bravo on Instagram.
According to Crystal, she was attending a graduation at Northern Arizona University when she got pulled over.
“As I drove onto campus, the campus police said it wasn’t my turn to go thru the intersection at a [four] way stop and the officer got pissed. So instead of giving me a regular ticket I was cited for using my car as a weapon,” she explained.
Once Crystal returned to Los Angeles and received the citation in the mail, she called the judge.
“The judge thought it was absurd and said ‘Do you plan on driving here again in the next [six] years?’ I said ‘no’ (I was 16 with my dad and brother in the car) and he replied it was such a hassle for you to come back to Arizona for a hearing to have it dismissed so instead just don’t come back!” she recalled.
“So there’s the story. Sorry it’s boring,” Crystal added.
After also sharing her message on Twitter, Crystal responded to a fan who suggested she include the news of her past arrest warrant in her tagline for the upcoming 12th season of RHOBH.
“This has to be included in some way for your tagline next season, lol!” he wrote.
In response, Crystal shared a suggestion from her husband, Rob Minkoff.
It read, “Hollywood is full of pretenders. And I slay them all… with my car.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 11 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
