Lisa Rinna‘s oldest daughter, model Delilah Hamlin, is taking a break.
In an emotional post shared with her fans and followers on Instagram, the 23-year-old model and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills regular confirmed she will be taking a “break” to focus on her physical and mental health and admitted that things have gotten a “bit scary.”
“On social media, we see what people want us to see. I want you to see that I’m not perfect,” Delilah began in her August 13 post. “For a long time, for many reasons, I didn’t take my physical and mental health seriously. I wasn’t taking it seriously as it confuses people and even myself sometimes because I look fine or I look healthy so people don’t understand fully when I ‘don’t feel good.’”
Although Delilah, who revealed in July 2019 that she’d been to rehab twice to treat depression, admitted to feeling “weirdly guilty” about taking a break, she said she must prioritize her physical and mental health.
“It’s starting to get a bit scary so if I’m not as present on social media, if I don’t meet deadlines, if I don’t seem myself, if I don’t respond to messages, this is why,” she explained. “I’m sorry to everyone, but for me, I need to take this break to save my energy and use it to heal.”
“I may post when I feel up to it but I may just take time off Instagram to rest and heal. I love you all and I am so grateful for your continued support!” Delilah added.
Following Delilah’s revelation regarding her past rehab visits, Lisa, 58, who shares her adult daughter with husband Harry Hamlin, 69, said on Instagram that a childhood infection, PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections), was responsible for Delilah’s severe anxiety and phobias.
Delilah also shared a series of posts on her Instagram Story, in which she showed off a kind gift she received from one of her loved ones.
“To Delilah Belle, sorry to hear you are unwell and we hope you are all better very soon,” a handwritten note read, in part.
Lisa and Harry’s youngest daughter, Amelia Hamlin, 20, previously struggled with anorexia.
“I went through this journey not for attention, not for people to pitty me, but to help. I am on this earth to help people, and I know that,” Amelia said in April 2018. “One in 200 women in the US suffer from anorexia. And I want to help.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 11 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
