Teddi Mellencamp is defending herself after undergoing a neck lift.
After admitting that she has “always been uncomfortable” and felt insecure about her neck, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum shared a series of before and after photos of herself, including her profile, as she also responded to a woman who felt the accountability coach was sending a bad message to others.
“I have always been comfortable with my neck in the front,” Teddi wrote in an Instagram Story at the end of last week. “It’s the side profile that has always made me feel insecure.”
According to Teddi, she tried Botox and filler but only saw a slight improvement. And while Kybella is a procedure frequently used to tighten this problem area, she was told it would be ineffective for her because she wasn’t dealing with fat under her neck but rather loose skin.
After deciding to see Dr. Sarmela Sunder for a neck lift, Teddi had all of her previous filler dissolved after undergoing the procedure, and she documented her progress along with way with her fans and followers on Instagram.
In photos shared immediately afterward, Teddi was quite swollen as she revealed she also underwent a microneedling treatment.
One day later, she showed off the results of her neck lift, which resulted in some stitching at her ears.
Teddi then shared a photo of herself from the front, thanking her surgeon for her incredible work.
Amid her documentation of the procedure, Teddi was met with a comment from one of her followers, who suggested she was doing a disservice to women.
“[You’re] a public figure trying to help women [lose] weight yet [you’re] getting a face lift to remind those of us who need one who can’t afford one how ugly we are. [Thank you],” the person wrote.
“I am being transparent with my journey,” Teddi replied.
“Would you prefer I lie and pretend my loose skin on my neck disappeared? That’s not who I am,” she continued. “You want to only follow people that show themselves through a filtered version of themselves then I am not the person to follow. ([By the way], this has nothing to do with going all in on your life – I changed my life [seven] years ago and am proud of that and will continue sharing and helping others achieve their goals.). Feel free to unfollow me. Wish you the best. ”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 premieres Wednesday at 8/7c on Bravo.
