Amanza Smith is single after splitting from boyfriend Ryan Babel.
Following nearly three years of dating, which the now-ex-couple chose to keep out of the spotlight, a rep for the 45-year-old Selling Sunset star has confirmed the end of her relationship with the 35-year-old soccer star, who plays for both Turkey’s Eyüpspor and the Netherlands’ national football team.
“She is currently single,” the rep told The U.S. Sun on November 29.
As fans well know, Ryan was never seen on the Netflix reality series. And as an insider revealed, he was only known to Amanza’s close friends, including the cast of Selling Sunset.
“He’s hung out with the cast a few times,” the source confirmed. “They were preparing to come out publicly a few months ago with a whole photoshoot of them together but life got in the way and their schedules didn’t match up.”
“They found it difficult making a long distance relationship work especially since Amanza has the kids [Noah, 13, and Braker, 11] full time and her career is in Los Angeles,” the insider continued.
Shortly after their breakup, Ryan made his Instagram account private. And currently, the only Selling Sunset cast member who appears to be following him is Mary Fitzgerald.
Despite the breakup, Amanza’s rep went on to say that the reality star was feeling positive and excited about her future endeavors.
“Amanza has had a great year and is leaving 2022 with some massive positivity for her and her two kiddos,” the rep shared. “She has worked closely with Glad this year on a campaign and has also been working with Eden + Ellie on a beautiful campaign, Spirit of Place, she designed. In addition, she’s on the board of Fashwire and they have some exciting things coming up.”
“She also has some really exciting secret projects in the works that we can’t wait to share,” the rep added.
Just months ago, while speaking to Us Weekly, Amanza confirmed she was still dating her then-secret boyfriend, noting that they’d “remained very low-key” at the time.
“I joked to the cast that I was gonna just print out a life size cardboard cutout of him and bring him with me everywhere so that I had a partner. Everybody loves him. I’m trying to convince Netflix to fly to where he resides [in the Netherlands] and film us but I don’t know if they’re down for it,” she shared.
As The U.S. Sun mentioned, Amanza hinted at her split from Ryan in an Instagram video that featured her watching The Notebook and swiping through dating apps while in bed with a friend.
“Dating in LA be like…” Amanza captioned the post, tagging the dating apps Hinge, Tinder, and Raya.
Prior to Ryan, Amanza was in a years-long relationship with the father of her son and daughter, Ralph Brown, who has been missing since August 2019.
Selling Sunset season six is expected to begin streaming on Netflix sometime in early 2023.
