Kandi Burruss is fighting back after Tamar Braxton accused her and her husband, Todd Tucker, of trying to fight her last fall over drama involving former Real Housewives of Atlanta producer Carlos King.
After Tamar confirmed on Sunday night’s Watch What Happens Live that Kandi and Todd were the RHOA stars she was referring to when she shared an Instagram Story claiming to have been “threatened,” Kandi addressed their feud on Amazon Live.
“The only thing I’ll say right now is … that’s not true. My husband never said nothin’ to her. He did not threaten her. None of that,” Kandi insisted on March 20, via Hollywood Life. “She and I did have words, but he didn’t. Some people like to twist things a little bit, but we can talk about it later on a different platform. Or not.”
In September 2022, Kandi accused Carlos of planning to make a biopic about her and Xscape without consent, saying on the Haus of Aaron podcast that he “stole [her] group’s life story and sold it to TV One.” But in her own interview on Dish Nation, Tamar said she didn’t “agree with [Kandi] calling him a thief.”
Then, after writing on her Instagram Story that she “was threatened by a [peach emoji] and they man,” Tamar said she and Kandi had “REAL BEEF” because Todd “stepped to me.”
Months later, on the March 19 episode of WWHL, Tamar doubled-down on her statements against Kandi and Todd, saying, “It really did happen. I’m not lying. Like, I’m not looking for drama, anything like that. That sh-t really did happen and it’s not cute.”
She even spoke out on Twitter, writing, “The fact is Kandi [and] Todd wanted to fight me,” and she shared a video on her Instagram Story, detailing her alleged backstage spat with Kandi and Todd.
After revealing that she apologized to Kandi for a fourth time, Tamra said, via the Reality Rundown on Instagram, that Kandi wasn’t having it and starting “buck-ing.”
“I get to the point when I’m like, ‘Look dog, this is not [the] Housewives. I’m not getting paid to sit here and argue with you like this,” Tamar recalled. “I am trying to completely deescalate the situation … And then Todd-ina comes out and like, he comes and get her and he says something to her and then he looks at me in my face — y’all gonna believe this sh-t or not — [he] looks at me in my face and go, ‘You know what it is.’”
According to Tamar, she was taken aback by Todd’s behavior.
“Me and Kandi or me and another female can argue all day long but when it comes to dudes in another woman’s face to physically threaten them and harm them, that’s when the line is drawn,” she stated. “There’s no reason for a man to ever step to a woman, period.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 15 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime in the coming months.
