Andy Cohen may know what led Raquel Leviss to have an affair with former best friend Ariana Madix‘s now-ex-boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, amid Vanderpump Rules season 10.
During a couple of interviews on Thursday, the Watch What Happens Live host admitted to feeling that Raquel lost her “sense of [self]” after gaining fame on the Bravo reality series and explained why he believes “Scandoval” has been so polarizing.
“I think people feel like they know them, I think infidelity is something that a lot of people are interested in and maybe have, you know, a relationship with, and also, I think that the idea that it happened with Ariana’s best friend, I think it makes it all very dramatic and shocking,” Andy told TMZ on May 18, adding, “But it’s real.”
When asked about why there is so much cheating on the show, Andy admitted, “I don’t know,” before suspecting “there’s something in the water in West Hollywood.”
“This isn’t the first cheating scandal of Vanderpump Rules. It won’t be the last. But it is certainly the biggest and it’s resonated the most with the most amount of people,” he noted.
Looking ahead to the future, Andy said he hopes Ariana will “get her happy ending” as the videographer questioned him about her new relationship with Daniel Wai.
“As long as she’s having fun and she said she’s ‘satisfied’ last night, I’m happy for her,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the May 18 episode of Chicks in the Office, Andy said he’s been thinking about Raquel’s journey on Pump Rules in recent weeks and feels she may have been negatively impacted by fame.
“[Raquel] was barely on the show. Maybe two seasons ago or more she was having a puppy party. That was her first kind of event that she was having on the show. She was very upset cuz none of the girls wanted to come. They’re like, ‘We’re not coming to your f-ing puppy party,'” Andy began.
And years later, he continued, Raquel “somehow got the attention of two of the principals, Sandoval and [Tom Schwartz], who are both paying her all this attention.”
“She’s got Katie and Lala and Ariana and Scheana, who are all kind of, she’s in the mix in a very big way, so is there a part of you that could consider that maybe she became intoxicated by now being a principal on this show and being considered as such,” he explained. “Maybe she became intoxicated by being such a part of the show and maybe that made her lose her sense of herself.”
The three-part Vanderpump Rules season 10 reunion begins next Wednesday, May 24, at 9/8c on Bravo.
