Kim Zolciak is speaking out following the news that her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, is trying to unload their $3 million shared mansion in Alpharetta, Georgia.
After seemingly flying in first class from Atlanta to Los Angeles amid her mounting money issues with her wedding and engagement rings still on, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 45, spoke to a photographer as she and her oldest daughter, Brielle Biermann, 26, enjoyed an outing at celebrity hotpot Il Pastaio on Friday.
On August 29, In Touch Weekly took note of an Instagram Story shared by Brielle in which she and Kim were seated in first-class on a Delta flight to the west coast, where Kim told fans she was going to “werk werk werk werk.”
The trip came just as it was revealed that Kim was being sued for $156,000 over an unpaid credit card balance, and after a series of other lawsuits regarding her and Kroy’s failure to pay their bills on time.
As RHOA fans may recall, the Don’t Be Tardy cast members filed for divorce from one another back in May but chose to reconcile their 11-year marriage shortly thereafter. Then, on August 24, after failing to do so, Kroy filed yet again, stating in court documents that their marriage was “irretrievably broken” and requesting sole legal and physical custody of their four younger children, Kroy “K.J.” Jagger, 12, Kash, 11, and twins Kaia and Kane, 9.
In the same documents, Kroy requested child support and alimony — and asked for the use of his and Kim’s home. However, Kroy also told the court that he wants to sell the property quickly so that he and Kim can get their own places and restore some sort of normalcy to the lives of their kids.
Amid their marital drama, TMZ reported on September 1 that Kim responded to Kroy’s request to list their marital residence while out with Brielle by suggesting that it was actually her idea to get rid of the home.
“It’s mutual… I told him what to do,” she told a photographer.
While Kim has kept her wedding rings on in the days since her second split from Kroy, and even said that they’re “probably not” getting divorced, Kroy confirmed, via his attorney, earlier this week that he is proceeding with their breakup as planned.
“No, at this time, he is still moving forward with the divorce action,” his attorney, Marlys A. Bergstrom, confirmed to TMZ.
The two-part Real Housewives of Atlanta season 15 reunion begins airing on Sunday, September 3, at 8/7c and concludes on Sunday, September 10, at 8/7c on Bravo.
