Just as it was revealed that the Real Housewives of Atlanta couple, whose spinoff, Don’t Be Tardy, aired for eight seasons on Bravo, owe $1.1 million in back taxes to the IRS and $15,000 to the state of Georgia, Kim and Kroy’s 11-year marriage is coming to an end.
As revealed in court documents obtained by TMZ on May 8, Kim suggested her marriage to Kroy is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation” and listed their separation date as April 30.
As RHOA fans well know, Kim and Kroy share four kids of their own, including 11-year-old Kroy Jagger, 10-year-old Kash Kade, and 9-year-old twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, and also share two adult daughters, Brielle Biermann and Ariana Biermann, who Kroy adopted after their November 2011 wedding.
In Kim’s divorce filing, the reality star, who was previously married to Daniel Toce from 2001 to 2003, requested primary physical custody and joint legal custody of her and Kroy’s four minor children, as well as spousal support from the former professional football star.
She even asked the court to restore her maiden name.
News of Kim’s divorce filing and tax debt comes just months after her and Kroy’s Atlanta home was said to have gone into foreclosure.
Following months of rumors suggesting Kim and Kroy were on the verge of losing the mansion, which Kim continuously denied, it was confirmed that their property never actually made it to the auction block as it was expected to do in March.
“Have you seen Kroy??? My gosh!!!!!! We are super blessed to have such a strong connection and attraction to each other,” Kim told one fan.
Then, when another wanted to know her marriage tips, Kim replied, “Sex, sex, and more sex.”
During the same chat, Kim explained what Kroy does for work.
“Kroy manages all of our careers and [Salty K Swim]. He also made close to $20 million so we are good,” she insisted at the time.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 15 airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
