Brittany Cartwright shaded her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, on Wednesday night’s Watch What Happens Live as she confirmed whether he was sober and reacted to his Hooters visit with their son, five-year-old Cruz.
While she also reflected on her since-ended romance with Brandon Hanson, shared her thoughts on the couples of The Valley, and confirmed which husband annoyed her more, Brittany, 37, weighed in on Kristen Doute, 43, and Janet Caperna‘s feud, offered an update on Cruz, and more.
“Jax is Jax-ing. Yeah, I mean, it’s not easy,” Brittany admitted on the April 15 episode of WWHL after host Andy Cohen, 57, asked how things were going between them.
“Some people are never gonna change,” she added.
That said, she did confirm that Jax is sober.
“Yes. Very happy for that. That is a great achievement,” she acknowledged.
As for the backlash Jax faced for taking Cruz to Hooters for his birthday, Brittany insisted she was not at all upset.
“I was inducted in the Hooters Hall of Fame. I think people forget about that. I love Hooters. I would love to own… That does not bother me at all. That is just fine. I wanted him to spend time with his son on his birthday,” she reasoned.
She also said Cruz was “thriving” and “doing amazing.”
Reflecting on her past fling with Brandon, Brittany admitted to moving too fast before shading his involvement in the cast’s drama amid season three.
“I started feeling a little like, eek. A little icky icky,” she noted.
Moving on to The Valley‘s couples, Brittany was asked about Tom Schwartz, 43, and Michelle Saniei, 37.
“I wanted them to have fun … [But] he’s in a relationship now. He’s happy,” she shared.
Then speaking of Jesse Lally, 45, and Lacy Nicole, Brittany wasn’t so sure they were “end game.”
“I’m getting to know her more, and I love her more, but I think I love more that she sticks up to Jesse and puts him in his place, more than like a relationship,” she shared.
During a game in which she was asked to choose between Janet and Jason Caperna, and Nia, 36, and Danny Booko, 42, Brittany said she was closest to Janet, and that Janet is the one who talks the most crap about the other couple.
“To me, because I talk to Janet more, but like, she really doesn’t, though, like, not as much as people think,” she clarified.
She then said that Nia was the one who sweeps issues under the rug, while she named Danny as the husband who had the hardest time admitting when they were wrong, and the most annoying.
As for Kristen and Janet’s run-in at her party on an episode earlier this month, Brittany insisted she never told Kristen that Janet wasn’t going to be present, as she was asked why she didn’t take up for Janet.
“I told [Kristen] that Janet was also invited, she was coming later, like after 4, maybe Janet won’t want to come when she finds out you’re coming. Because I made sure they both knew about each other, and she ended up coming later. So that was all that happened, and it happened fast. I didn’t have time to take up for anybody,” she explained.
Also on the live show, Brittany reacted to Schwartz and Lala Kent, 35, being added to her cast.
“Oh, I love them. I think they are a great addition. They’re obviously dear friends and real friends of ours for years and years and years,” she revealed. “I lived down the hallway from Schwartz for so long. Me and Lala have been friends; she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. We had kids two weeks apart from each other, like, we have grown up together, so we’re real friends. It makes real sense that they are on The Valley, and it’s a new perspective.”
After the broadcast, while appearing on the WWHL: After Show, Brittany explained how she maintains a friendship with Schwartz, despite his closeness to Jax.
“Schwartz has always just been Schwartz. Like, he is so nice. He’s kind of like the male version of me in a lot of ways, where he’s very Switzerland and wants to bring everybody together and be nice. You can’t hate Schwartz. He’s just so likable and so lovely, and he loves Cruz, and he just is a very thoughtful person,” she shared.
The Valley season three airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
