Rosie DiMare called out Barstool Sports’ founder, Dave Portnoy, on Instagram after he mentioned her alleged affair with Georgetown’s basketball coach, Ed Cooley, in a TikTok video.
After Kelsey Swanson, 32, detailed a number of affair reports regarding Rosie, 35, on The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, and Dave, 49, reflected on the drama surrounding Ed’s exit from his coaching position at Providence College, Rosie took to social media to call him out and set the record straight.
“I’ve been very quiet about a lot of things cuz it’s like, so stupid. But now that things are making it to straight man Twitter, thank you, David Portnoy, I figured I should say my peace,” Rosie began in her May 26 clip. “So, first and foremost, I do not know Ed Cooley. I’ve never met Ed Cooley. I’ve never been in a car with Ed Cooley. I have never had an affair with Ed Cooley. He has never paid me money. He has never bought a house for me. I actually just don’t know him. I’ve never met him.”
Ed is married and shares two kids with his wife, Nurys, including Olivia and Isaiah. Rosie has been married to her husband, Rich DiMare, 42, since July 2024.
“Part two: We bought our house ourselves with the money we make at our big grown-up jobs. That’s how you pay for things when you’re a grown-up,” Rosie continued.
She then addressed additional rumors spread by Kelsey.
“As for I had another affair with someone that I worked with, a higher up, a co-worker, I got fired because of these affairs … I’ve never had an affair with anyone. I’ve never had an affair with a co-worker, I’ve never had an affair with a higher-up, and actually, I’ve never gotten fired,” she confirmed.
From there, Rosie shared a couple of documents, including a contract release from her former news station employer, which read, in part, “Employee represents and warrants that she has requested an early termination of the Agreement, which will not conflict with her post-employment obligations set forth in the Agreement due to health issues. The foregoing representation by Employee is a material inducement for Employer to enter into this Agreement and General Release (the ‘Release’).”
“I went on medical leave. And when medical leave was over, I asked to leave, as clearly stated in this document,” Rosie explained.
Then, she shared a July 11, 2023, email from Human Resources, which stated, “Here is what we’ve prepared to share with our viewers — ‘Rosie is stepping away from NBC 10 to focus on her health. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.’ Please let me know if your client would like us to make any changes.”

In closing, Rosie added, “So, that’s all I’m going to be saying about this. I don’t care about any of this stuff. None of it’s real. Keep the accusations coming. Bye, guys.”

As RHORI fans may have seen, Dave addressed the topic on “Tea by the Sea” on TikTok, acknowledging that his chatter was nothing more than “innuendo” and “gossip.”
“There’s whispers. There’s rumors [that] the real reason Ed Cooley, and again, gossip … I have no proof … [but] the real reason supposedly this basketball coach, Ed Cooley, huge name, built Providence up that he suddenly left is that he had an affair and his wife was like, ‘We’re pulling up stakes. We gotta get out of here. We’re leaving Providence. That’s on you. You hooked up with somebody,’” Dave stated in his clip.
Dave also noted that when Ed left Providence College to coach at Georgetown, he didn’t believe his suggestion that he was doing so because he had a better chance at winning at Georgetown.
