Kandi Burruss addressed K. Michelle’s “mean girl” comment on the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion. Kandi also hinted that Michelle was “not nice” to her, and she suggested that things have happened “behind the scenes” – as Michelle reacted.
In the new season, Michelle claimed that Shamea Morton told her that Shamea’s friends (seemingly Kandi and her friendship group) didn’t want Shamea to hang out with Michelle. According to Michelle, this statement caused her a lot of friction and drama. At the reunion, Michelle called out a group of “mean girls” in Atlanta, and many assumed she was referring to Kandi.
On Big Tigger Morning Show, Big Tigger‘s co-host Francesca Amiker told Kandi that Michelle called her a “mean girl” on RHOA.
“I personally feel that mean girls can’t call other girls mean girls. It doesn’t work like that,” said Kandi. “Like we’ve seen [Michelle] like literally go in on people on multiple times on camera, on television … calling people out their names, doing all the things.”
“And with that I have to say: if I’m a mean girl, she was a mean girl too,” Kandi added. “If you are not nice to me, I am not nice to you.”
Kandi hinted that many “arguments” that ended up “blowing up in public” are the result of other things that happened “behind the scenes.”
“And I don’t always go online [and] tell you everything that the people have said to me or done or whatever that made me feel a way,” she hinted. “I don’t always give you all that information, so you all may only see what the other person is saying … like, ‘Well, Kandi did this.'”
On X, Michelle reacted to Kandi’s interview.
“Actually I didn’t say that,” said Michelle, suggesting she wasn’t referring to Kandi when she mentioned the “mean girls” at the reunion, “but that lady did say you was tigger’s side piece.😉😘”
The ‘Tigger’s side piece’ diss was actually directed at the host, Francesca Amiker, who was asking Kandi questions Francesca is currently suing the wife of radio host Big Tigger for alleging she was having an affair with her husband.
In another tweet, K. Michelle confirmed she was calling referring to “two” of Kandi’s friends as mean girls but not Kandi herself.
Back in June on Reality with the King, Shamea addressed Michelle’s issues with Kandi. According to Shamea, she had to leave Michelle on a night out because she was set to hang out with Kandi.
“I’m like, ‘I’m meeting with Kandi.’ [Michelle then asked me], ‘Why y’all ain’t invite me?’ I’m like, ‘Well, girl, you know. Like, now you know damn well like, Kandi [is loyal to] Rashida,’” said Shamea, referring to Michelle’s past enemy. “Kandi’s loyal to a fault. … I never said Kandi hates you. She don’t like you.”
“And so when I went there, even with Kandi, I was like, ‘K wanted to come.’ She was like, ‘Nah, I’m not, you know, you know, I can’t do that. I mean, I like her, but I can’t… Rashida is my girl,’” Shamea added. “And that was it. I didn’t even think it was an issue. But then, of course, you know, K’s thing is like, you know, ‘Oh, you keep telling me that your friends don’t like me.’”
