Allie Eklund revealed what fans didn’t see of her split from Steven McBee Jr. while appearing on Gia Giudice‘s podcast on Monday.
As she also revealed whether she’d do their relationship over again, detailed her attraction to Steven, and spoke of wanting to keep her dating life private, Allie, 29, shared what she wanted McBee Dynasty fans to know about her and admitted to hard moments post-breakup.
“I think a lot of people are reaching out about my strength and admiration they have for it and sometimes that strength, for me, what they see is defending myself, defending my side, speaking out as a woman, which is very powerful, but sometimes strength looks like laying in bed for three days and not being able to get up and having to lean on my support system to pick me up,” Allie clarified on the September 21 episode of Casual Chaos.
According to the influencer, she’s had “good days” and “bad days” since she and Steven parted ways in April, following accusations of cheating, which she denied.
“But to me, it all ties into the overall strength of growing through something and learning that the only way to get out of it is through it,” she reasoned.
Because of that exact growth, Allie confirmed that if she could go back in time, she would still date Steven.
“I try to be stronger for my experiences … so because of that I grew, and because I grew I wouldn’t take back the relationship,” she said. “There were a lot of great moments, a lot of things that I admired about him and his family, and it just got to the point where the bad outweighed the good and the relationship was no longer serving Steven or I.”
One of the good parts of her relationship with Steven, Allie revealed, was getting to watch him in action at his family businesses.
“He has an impressive mind. He is a creative person, has a lot of great ideas, and is very helpful when it comes to business,” she revealed. “We worked together. We fed off each other’s ideas. We initially connected and had so much in common for what I thought as far as a vision for businesses in our life that I was always impressed with that side of him.”
“I was always impressed with how much he knew about everything and all aspects of the business. I hadn’t met anyone like that really … That’s a quality I admire in a man, is someone that can lead in those conversations … so finding it in Steven was exciting,” she continued.
Prior to joining The McBee Dynasty for season three, Allie said she made it a point to keep her dating life private.
“That was always my thing … but now it’s out there, and honestly, it’s more freeing that way,” she admitted.
As for what she wants fans to know, Allie said, “I tried my best.”
“My number one goal was to show up and be a positive light for someone that I really loved and support him through what he was going through, and I genuinely tried my best, and sometimes loving someone, one of the most loving things that you can do, I believe, is love them from a distance, and in this case, that’s what it came down to,” she explained. “I tried my best. I really did, with the information that I had at the time, and I’m learning and growing more and more every day.”
