Lisa Barlow revealed that her Real Housewives of Salt Lake City castmates were jealous when she was chosen to represent their city on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th while appearing on Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
As she also shared which co-stars she clicked with most on RHUGT, addressed Gizelle Bryant‘s double standards, and defended Vicki Gunvalson, 64, Lisa spoke of her friendship with Teresa Giudice, 54, revealed her rose and thorn of RHUGT, and admitted to hating her season one cast photos for RHOSLC.
“All of them [were jealous] … I think they had a rough time with it,” Lisa, 51, shared on the October 6 episode of WWHL about her castmates’ reaction to her role on RHUGT.
She then confirmed she clicked with The Real Housewives of Rhode Island cast the most.
“The Rhode Island girls. [Liz McGraw] from Rhode Island,” she shared.
Looking back on the way Gizelle, 56, gave her flak for being late amid their visit to Atlanta but not to Porsha Williams, 45, when she was late, Lisa defended herself.
“When I got on the van, I did say I’m sorry, but I was so, you know, the night before was a little rough with my cast popping in … you know what I don’t like is when someone tells you to apologize because then they’re like, ‘Oh, you just apologized because I told you to.’ And for me, I needed to take a beat because the night before was a little rough,” she explained. “I was also doing Sundance while we were on [RHUGT], and we had a big event in our lounge, so I was up late. [Teresa] was helping me pack … we sat in the airport for 5 hours after we got there … we were way ahead of time. It wasn’t like we were cutting it down to the wire to begin with.”
Although Vicki was accused of being a “downer” on the trip, Lisa denied that was the case.
“I hate that people think she was cantankerous the whole time … she was so fun,” Lisa insisted. “She made everything a mood. She could just put her visor on crooked and make us laugh so hard. She’s very entertaining. I had so much fun with Vicki. I hate that people are thinking she was a downer.”
In addition to enjoying her time with Vicki, Lisa also got close to Teresa.
“I feel like it was instant. I feel like we’ve gone through a lot of things,” Lisa explained about their friendship. “I think every girl on [RHUGT] is like the alpha from their franchise. And so all of us together, like, I really felt Teresa. I think when we roomed together and got to know each other better without the other girls, even, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I feel this for Teresa.’ I think it’s hard to be a prisoner of your past. And I think it’s like, be free of that because you’re amazing. What you’ve accomplished is amazing. You’ve raised gorgeous girls that are super smart, doing amazing things. And I think for me I saw all these good attributes. She’s really chill too. Like, Teresa’s very chill.”
Regarding the rose and thorn of her time on RHUGT, Lisa said, “I love the experience with being around girls that are bold, and I think really confident with themselves because that was such a good experience for me. And the late nights, there’s so much footage you guys didn’t see where we had the best time laughing together.”
“The thorn is when my cast showed up,” she added.
Also on the live broadcast, Lisa called out her season one photo for RHOSLC.
“My entire cast’s seasons one photos were horrible. We look like ventriloquists,” she alleged. “I don’t know who edited it. It was during COVID. My dress was ripped. I put it on. It was like a nightmare. When that picture came out, the comments were … Listen, I don’t like to read the comments. But I didn’t even have to try to read them. They were so bad. And I’m like, I hope I don’t look like her.”
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, after being asked which of her RHUGT co-stars she wished she could’ve swapped for someone else, Lisa confirmed she would not have kicked anyone off the cast.
“We had such a great bonding experience. I hate that it was only nine episodes. I feel like we could’ve done 20 with how much fun we all had. And like the after-hours situations were so fun,” Lisa shared. “Even in the van, we made that a good time. It was the longest drive to the Berkshires ever. It felt like it was never gonna end, but we had fun with all of it. I think it was such an epic [trip].”
“I loved the experience, and I’m glad I got to do it,” she added.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season seven airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
