Teddi Mellencamp opened up about her post-brain surgery struggles in an Instagram Story video shared earlier this week.
As she also admitted that no one had told her it was possible that her skin cancer could spread to her brain and lungs, the 45-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum revealed that after years of cancer treatments, she’s struggling with day-to-day things like seeing, writing, and making her bed.
“I’m not gonna try to be the old Teddi, but I’m gonna try to be the new and improved Teddi,” Teddi declared in her clip, via Meaww, as she admitted her hand shakes when she wakes up.
“I’m not good with numbers. I can’t write. It’s hard for me to see,” she continued.
As Teddi, who was first diagnosed with skin cancer in 2022, vowed to start making her bed and putting on workout clothes, she revealed that she’d gotten back on her treadmill.
While feeling sorry for herself had impacted Teddi’s motivation to work out, she reasoned that her “journey” was “not about the number on the scale,” and she revealed that her All In coaching team had helped her log back into her treadmill before she completed her “first jog in two years.”
“I don’t care if I only make it 10 minutes,” she noted, adding that she was going for “progress over perfection.”
She also shared a side-by-side photo of herself before and after her cancer treatments.
“I don’t care about becoming the old me again [because] she wasn’t happy but am excited to see where my new journey will take me,” she captioned the pics.

Meanwhile, on the October 27 episode of The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show, Teddi revealed that she was never warned that her cancer could spread.
“So I had 18 melanomas on my back. No one had told me, not one person, so this is for all of you guys — not one person told me, ‘You don’t think that can metastasize to your brain and your lungs?’” she shared. “I have a million surgeries [on my shoulder]. So I would get this [checked] all the time. I would go to that doctor and get my skin checked all the time, but nobody did an MRI. Nobody did a CAT scan. Nobody did anything.”
“It can still metastasize to your brain, and so that’s what had happened to me, and they’re like, ‘We think your tumors have been there for probably a year by the size,’” she added.
