Amanda Batula reportedly told a fan account that she quit In the City because of online bullies shortly after news of her departure was shared.
After it was revealed that Amanda, 35, along with Danielle Olivera, 37, Eoin Heavey, 39, Andrea Denver, 35, and Lexi Sundin, 34, would not be returning for season two of the Summer House spinoff, Amanda allegedly sent a DM to Your Moms Are Watching’s Thea de Sousa, explaining her decision to move on.
“The continued hate from fan accounts and the internet is a huge reason why I decided I wasn’t ready to film again and put myself back out there,” Amanda’s supposed DM stated on October 29. “The bullying has been [too] intense[.] Who would want to put their life out there for other’s entertainment when they’re constantly ripped apart and beaten down for every single thing they do[?]”

As fans well know, Amanda has taken a ton of heat online due to her controversial romance with West Wilson, 31, whom she began dating just weeks after announcing her split from estranged husband Kyle Cooke, 44, and amid a close friendship with Ciara Miller, 30, who previously dated West.
Although the Bravo fan page suggested that the hate being sent to Amanda was “out of control,” others disagreed.
“Some real accountability would go a long way,” one person noted.
“Because she never took accountability,” another agreed, adding, “Why not set the record straight and film and get paid a couple hundred thousand doing it?”
Someone else pointed out that she was highly critical of Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 32, after the Vanderpump Rules alum’s affair with Tom Sandoval, 43, the then-boyfriend of her friend and castmate, Ariana Madix, 41, was revealed.
“She witnessed ‘Scandoval’ and doubled down on the Rachel hate… how could she not see this coming? It’s sad, but it’s like that… Bravo fans are unhinged,” they stated, giving a nod to a 2023 episode of Watch What Happens Live.
“My heart goes out to Ariana. I mean, she’s surrounded by her friends, fortunately, but I just – it’s a crappy situation,” Amanda had said on the show. “It makes me sick.”
Other commenters to Amanda’s alleged DM were less critical, pointing out that Amanda and West “didn’t kill anyone or even cheat on anyone.”
“Just let it go. It’s ridiculous to hate someone you don’t even know,” someone wrote.
“I agree. People need perspective. They aren’t our actual friends lol. Sucks she hurt her friend and husband like that. Move on,” another person agreed.
“People need to move on and get a life. It is sad what some people feel at liberty to say to others,” someone else added.
