The McBee Dynasty star Stephen McBee Jr. reacted to Allie Eklund‘s new tallow post on a podcast on Monday.
As he also revealed that Allie, 29, allegedly refused to film the season three finale without an additional paycheck and commented on Southern Charm star Salley Carson, 31, suggesting that she was “terrified” amid a visit to his home state of Missouri, Stephen, 33, admitted to being mindblown by Allie seemingly starting her own tallow line following her percentage dispute that kept her from forming a partnership with Kacie Adkison‘s own tallow business.
“It’s just mind-blowing. And she posted about it on the day that [Kacie and Cole McBee‘s daughter] Tate was born,” Stephen said on the August 24 episode of the Roxanne and Shantel Podcast, noting that Allie’s timing was “intentional.”
“It hasn’t stopped. For three months straight, it’s been very frustrating,” he noted.
According to Stephen, his family has been quiet “for the most part.”
“We thought things would die down with Allie and like, would move on, and that would be the end of it. It has been a three-month smear campaign,” he shared. “So many lies spread, so much misinformation or half-truths or complete narrative manipulation — the way that she was in the confessionals — that it’s like, okay, we have to … showcase the receipts and the facts of the situation. And it’s the same thing with this tallow situation.”
Stephen then claimed, “Allie doesn’t [even] use tallow.”
“She didn’t use our tallow. She can’t put anything on her skin, or it breaks out. She tried Kacie’s tallow one time, too sensitive-skinned to ever use tallow. She’s not using tallow now. The whole reason she’s coming out with a tallow product is because of this situation with Kacie, 100 percent,” he concluded.

During another moment of the podcast, Stephen spoke of Allie’s supposed refusal to film the finale.
“The finale was, I didn’t know how they were going to piece the finale together, because we really didn’t have a fully wrapped season yet,” Steven explained, via All About the Real Housewives. “Whenever production left in early February, the expectation was that they were going to go to the editing room and then come back out for three or four more days called pickup scenes.”
“This is what every reality show does. It just helps piece together, you know, some final thoughts or wrap up some final thoughts, if there needs to be any closure,” he continued.
Although filming additional scenes may be standard and part of cast members’ contracts, Stephen said Allie would not partake without more money — even though she was already being paid more than the other women on the show.
“I definitely told her what the other girls were making. That’s just something that you do. Like, you’re like, ‘Oh, you’re already making more than these other girls. Why are you asking for even more?’” Steven shared, adding that both he and production were “frustrated,” especially since he had already fought for her salary.
“I literally used every bit of leverage to get her her rate that I possibly could,” he went on. “What is so frustrating is that online people are like, ‘Well, she’s just a smart businesswoman. She knows how to negotiate.’ I’m like, I literally was going to not film the show. I was going to stop the show if she didn’t make what she wanted. Like, that’s not her negotiating. That’s me using my leverage.”
Also on the podcast, Steven weighed in on Salley’s suggestion that she had to be rescued by Craig Conover, 37, after feeling “terrified” amid a visit with Stephen, clarifying that it wasn’t her first visit to the state.
“I was already taking the heat from the internet over the Allie situation. And then she uses the word terrified, which, given the context of everything that Allie had been saying, and obviously, you know, what I said in those text messages, terrified has a new connotation,” Steven explained.
According to Stephen, Kacie, 27, and Cole, 25, have videos that prove Salley had a “blast.” And, after the trip, they continued to communicate in a positive manner, with Steven acting as a “supportive friend” after Salley became nervous about what would be shown on Southern Charm season 11.
“She texted me back saying, ‘Oh, thank you so much. I appreciate that. I miss you. Can I see you soon?’” Steven recalled. “Does that sound like someone that’s terrified or had a terrifying experience two weeks earlier?”
Stephen went on to share that Cole had commented on a post about Salley’s version of events, asking her why she was “lying.”
“She DM’d him saying, ‘Sorry that, you know, this is my first podcast. A lot of times, like, you just say things, we’re talking and you get on a ramble or you try to make a joke and it comes across the wrong way,’” Steven revealed.
From there, Stephen reached out to Salley, personally.
“I was just like, ‘Hey, like, I’m going to be honest. I’m very disappointed.’ I said, ‘I’m not mad. I’m just really disappointed because I thought we had a mutual respect,’” he stated. “[And] she texted me back saying, ‘I’m so sorry. Like, I will go on my Instagram and post an apology and say, you know, that’s not what I meant at all. I had a great time. Like, whatever you want me to do.’ And I was just like, ‘No, you know, it’s not a big deal. I appreciate the apology. It’s like, I just, it’s just disappointing.’”
The McBee Dynasty has not yet been renewed for a fourth season.
