Taylor Frankie Paul confirmed a past suicide attempt on Instagram on Sunday.
In honor of September being National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the 32-year-old Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star took to social media to share the news with her fans and followers, along with a series of images, one of which saw her in a hospital bed.
“Name one time I’ve cried…..If you think you know me at all, just know it’s surface level to what I have yet to share. This is just one of many I’ve never shared before, but here we are in honor of suicide awareness month starting September,” Taylor wrote in the caption of an August 30 post, which featured a photo of her wearing a hoodie that said, “This is my crying hoodie.”

Along with the hospital photo, Taylor revealed, “My first [and] last time I attempted to take my own life was at age 19. Woke up in the hospital and this specific incident is a big reason I’m a firm believer in Christ and also a big reason I am constantly advocating for mental health.”
With the next pic, she added, “I finally let a lot go and next is telling my family they also have to let that version of me they’ve held on to … go.”

She also added a third image in which she was seen on the set of her canceled season of The Bachelorette.
“I believe I was pulled out for a bit to catch my breath, shift, and redirect for what’s to come,” Taylor wrote with that image.
News of Taylor’s past suicide attempt comes just days after the SLOMW season five trailer gave a nod to her past domestic violence incidents with her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, 33.
“What do you guys all know about this whole situation?” a producer asked the cast in the preview for the new episodes.
“There’s so much stuff the public doesn’t know,” Mayci Neeley, 31, replied.
Meanwhile, after Miranda Hope, 28, asked, “How did she get here,” Taylor and Dakota, who are currently battling for custody of their two-year-old son Ever (Taylor also shares daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 6, with her ex-husband, Tate Paul), were seen on FaceTime together, where he showed off a “TFP” tattoo on his lips.
“Why’d you get my initials tattooed on your lips? It’s giving obsessed,” Taylor states.
“I am obsessed,” Dakota admitted.
Also in the trailer, Jessi Draper, 34, describes Taylor and Dakota as “Romeo and Juliet in the TikTok age.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season five premieres on Thursday, September 10, on Hulu.
