According to a new report, the 35-year-old reality star has become too “low-key” for the reality series and her lack of drama simply isn’t working for the show.
“She’s being downgraded to a ‘friend’ of the cast,” a source told Radar Online on June 19. “She doesn’t have a lot of drama in her life these days.”
While Kristen was regularly caught in the middle of the drama between her co-stars during the first several seasons of the show, she has since grown up and settled down with her boyfriend of three years, Brian Carter.
As the outlet noted, Kristen was barely seen at all during the show’s sixth season, aside from a few episodes in which she was accused of cheating on Brian with her former boyfriend James Kennedy during a cast trip to Mexico.
During an interview on The Daily Dish Podcast earlier this year, James spoke about the rumors involving himself and Kristen, claiming that Kristen actually enjoyed the on-screen controversy.
“I must say that Kristen was loving it. She was loving the attention,” he said. “I know you both have noticed that there hasn’t been much of her this year. She’s like a vampire. She’ll just go for any blood she can and she saw some f**king opportunity in Mexico.”
Although Kristen may not return to Bravo in a full-time role, she has been seen filming for the seventh season of the show in recent weeks.
As fans may have seen, the former SUR Restaurant waitress was present when Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright were treated to a surprise party after their June 7 engagement and was also seen with her co-stars at the MTV Movie And TV Awards, where Vanderpump Rules lost the award for Best Reality Series/Franchise to Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
UPDATE: Kristen is denying this report of being demoted as she referred to it as ‘fake news’ on Twitter.
