The cast of Teen Mom OG is reportedly unhappy about the alleged addition of Cheyenne Floyd.
According to a new report, a number of the series’ cast members are in an uproar after MTV reportedly chose to bring the Are You The One? and Challenge star to the series, despite the fact that she was never seen on the show before — and was never a teen mom.
“[Amber Portwood] is pissed off about the new cast member,” a source close to the mother of two told Radar Online on June 19. “They’ve been doing Teen Mom for ten years and don’t think they like the idea of someone who is a total newbie and has never even been on the show before coming on permanently.”
Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra believe that if MTV insists on bringing a fourth girl to the show to replace the fired Farrah Abraham, they should look for a replacement within the Teen Mom franchise or merge the show with its sister series, Teen Mom 2.
“They all just think it’s stupid that they’re brining people from outside the franchise instead of bringing the OGs and the [Teen Mom 2] cast together,” the insider explained. “Maci loves Chelsea, Kail and Amber get along, it just makes more sense.”
Tyler is “fed up with all the drama the show has brought them,” the source continued. “He just doesn’t think the show is going to last much longer unless the new cast member brings amazing ratings, but they aren’t really holding their breath. Catelynn in particular feels like the show has absolutely nothing to do with the kids anymore so they’re just waiting for MTV to pull the plug.”
As for Farrah’s reaction, she told Radar Online that she had none because she is no longer tuning in to her former series.
“I don’t watch the show anymore as I’ve moved on,” she said. “The show was done when I left.”
One person who is in favor of Cheyenne’s addition? Teen Mom 2 dad Javi Marroquin, who is friends with her former boyfriend, Cory Wharton.
“Cory is my guy so I’m glad he’s on board. Good decision for his family,” Javi explained.
Teen Mom OG will return to MTV later this year for season eight.
