Denise Richards is facing a lawsuit just days after marrying husband Aaron Phypers.

According to a report, the new Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member is being sued by American Express after she allegedly failed to pay for over $20,000 worth of charges.

On September 11, The Blast shared court documents obtained from the credit card company, which stated Denise owes $20,307.73 in charges from the past four years. Although the documents didn’t reveal any specific charges, it was noted that Denise’s account with American Express had been canceled in June of this year.

The outlet went on to reveal that this is just the latest financial issue plaguing the actress. In addition to this lawsuit, Denise is also involved in a dispute with the equestrian center in Malibu, California, where she boards her horse after reportedly falling behind on her payments to the tune of $47,000.

Additionally, Denise agreed two years ago to have her child support payments from former husband Charlie Sheen cut from $55,000 a month to $20,000 a month. However, as recently reported, Charlie is now trying to get those $20K payments reduced, citing financial hardship and claiming he only earns $2,426 per month these days. A hearing for that case has been scheduled for this month.

Denise and Charlie share two daughters, 14-year-old Sam and 13-year-old Lola.

While Denise is currently facing at least a couple of financial hardships, her struggles could soon come to an end. After all, since confirming her new role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, reports have suggested she’ll be making a whopping $1 million for her first season.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season nine will return to Bravo TV later this year.

UPDATE – According to a September 3, 2019 report from The Blast, Denise has settled her case with AMEX and the lawsuit against her has been dismissed.
