Weeks after Kelly assured fans on Instagram that she would not be returning to the show after being accused of using cocaine by her former friend and co-star, Vicki Gunvalson, a source claims Bravo TV has been coaxing Kelly to come back to the show.
“Vicki is not getting fired and Kelly Dodd is not going to quit,” a production insider revealed to Radar Online on December 6. “Kelly got super upset in the heat of the moment. But the higher-ups are coaxing Kelly into staying because they need the drama for next season.”
Vicki made the shocking allegations against Kelly during the season 13 reunion and suggested she had gotten the information from one of Kelly’s friends. Then, during a later scene from the show, she apologized to her co-star.
According to the report, the network is planning to draw Kelly back to the show after she proclaimed she would never again appear alongside Vicki on the show by awarding her with not only a substantial paycheck but also the continuing exposure of her brand.
“Kelly is appreciative of the fan base that the show has given her and she is also very grateful that it allows her to give back in terms of charity work, such as her work with the soup kitchen,” the insider explained.
“Kelly and Vicki will hash this out on the upcoming season, or they won’t,” the insider added. “Either way, neither of the ladies are going anywhere and the claws are going to come out like never before on season 14.”
Following her on-screen feud with Vicki, Kelly called on Bravo TV to take action against Vicki’s false claims against her and said she would not come back to the show if she remained employed by the network.
“I can’t go back if that liar can just say sh*t without consequences. The money isn’t worth it to me!” Kelly explained November 20 on Instagram. “My daughter means more to me than this show and she is trying to ruin my reputation.. just out of principle I won’t go back! They can pick the OG I’m out!!”
Later, Kelly told a fan she had chosen not to return next season.
As for Vicki, she recently called their feud “sad” and claimed she would be there for Kelly if she needed a friend to help her out.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 13 reunion continues on Sunday night, December 9 at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
