Lala Kent‘s love story with fiancé Randall Emmett has been kept off Vanderpump Rules but during a new interview, the reality star opened up about the moment she knew he was the one for her. Ahead of tonight’s new episode of Pump Rules, Lala also discussed her plans for kids, her role as a step-mom and her co-parenting relationship with Randall’s ex-wife Ambyr Childers following their feud.
Years after joining the cast as a hostess at Lisa Vanderpump‘s SUR Restaurant in West Hollywood, California, Lala revealed she and Randall’s first encounter took place at the venue after he spotted her. He then sent his assistant to ask for her manager’s number as he was doing casting for a movie called The Row.
“I went in for multiple auditions, and each time he was the jokester,” Lala revealed to Entertainment Tonight. “I was like, ‘He’s cute.’ Like the way — I’ve never dated anybody like him, but, like, whatever he’s about, I’m feeling it. I’m not gonna fight it.”
Three months later, Lala and Randall went on their first official date in New York City, where Lala wasted no time taking their relationship to the next step.
“I let him hit it first night and the rest is just history,” she admitted. “Honestly, I knew I was gonna be with him forever when we had first done the deed, and then I got into the bath and I was broken out at that time — I had the worst weave in the world — and I get out of the tub, fresh-faced, and he was like, ‘You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.’ And to me that meant, like — ‘cause clearly, I was not, physically, the most beautiful person he has ever seen! — but I was like, ‘OK. I feel like I can be myself with this person.’ I had never felt that before.”
When asked if fans will be seeing her engagement and future wedding plans on Vanderpump Rules, Lala said she’s enjoying keeping some things to herself, including her September engagement.
“I still enjoy that little bit of privacy that we have, as much as I’m so liberated by the fact that I can talk about him and our relationship,” she said. “I can talk about the proposal, but the way that it is in my memory is, like, you could never document it and make it feel the way that it actually felt.”
As Lala and Randall begin planning their 2020 wedding, they are living together in Los Angeles with Randall’s two daughters, London and Rylee, who he shares with ex-wife Ambyr Childers.
Although Lala and Ambyr have feuded online in the past, Lala had nothing but good things to say about Randall and Ambyr’s co-parenting relationship as she discussed her role as a step mom to their kids.
“I get that role of, like, you can feel safe with me, but also we can have, like, the best time ever ’cause I’m not your parent, you know?” she explained. “Randall and [his ex] do such a great job of raising them, so I let them handle that part and then I’m like, ‘Here, have some lip gloss. Wanna do fake nails? We can do fake nails!’”
Regarding their own plans for kids, Lala claimed she and Randall are in no rush. That said, they do want to start a family eventually.
“He’s set on one, I’m set on two,” she revealed. “So, two it will be, because Lala gets what she wants … I would like to get married in 2020, and then at least a year of being married, and then let’s get it poppin’, daddy!”
A new episode of Vanderpump Rules airs Sunday night at 9/8c on Bravo TV.
