The Real Housewives of Dallas star D’Andra Simmons is keeping it real with fans by revealing how she managed to gain 25 pounds after undergoing a facelift back in January.
In true Bravo housewife fashion, reality star D’Andra is fessing up to getting plastic surgery to help keep herself looking fabulous on the small screen. Years after getting a nose job and a breast lift, D’Andra underwent a facelift back in January of this year, and the Dallas housewife experienced some unexpected post-operation symptoms.
“Nobody tells you that you get depressed,” D’Andra dished to Bravo‘s The Feast. “My husband took me out to California where I had [the facelift] done, and then he had to leave three days later to go to National Geographic. And so I was there, stuck in a beach house for a month by myself, and it got depressing.”
The Bravo star went on to explain that while she waited around in California to heal, she made herself feel better with her favorite guilty pleasure.
“So of course, we all know that I love donuts, and I love to eat,” the 50-year-old admitted. “Well, my favorite donut place in the world is in Costa Mesa, California, and it’s called Sidecar. So of course I was going there daily to Sidecar Donuts and having my cake donuts and I gained 25 pounds before the season started.”
Since her month-long donut binge, the reality star says she’s been struggling to lose the excess weight. “I’ve been trying to get it off,” D’Andra divulged. “I haven’t gotten it all off because it’s harder at 50. It’s a slow process.”
But D’Andra hasn’t fully given up on her favorite sweet treat. The green-eyed beauty was seen chowing down on the fried confections during RHOD‘s latest episode after her husband Jeremy Lock gifted her with a box of 50 donuts for her 50th birthday.
D’Andra also faced her ultimate frenemy LeeAnne Lockden at the party after LeeAnne’s husband accused Jeremy of cheating. The two surprisingly got along during the event, likely due to their successful “friend-tervention.”
