The Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd isn’t holding back on what she really thinks about Shannon Beador‘s reaction to being hit with a mallet, as proven by her recent Instagram post. Plus, Shannon is defending her reaction to the incident as she discusses feeling “hurt.”
The RHOC cast ventured off to a healing retreat in Arizona during this week’s episode and partook in a sound bath, resulting in a bang heard around the world. As fans can recall, Shannon, who was wearing a metal bowl on her head, was hit over the head by Kelly, who was wielding a heavy mallet. Afterward, the Bravo star headed to a local urgent care, complaining of a headache and blurred vision.
On Tuesday, 43-year-old Kelly reposted a fan-made video on her Instagram that paired the clip with the song “Mr. Sandman” by The Chordettes, making fun of the whole situation. And when a fan left a comment suggesting Shannon only reacted the way she did because it was Kelly who hit her, the Bravo star agreed.
“She was fine until someone told her it was YOU that hit her with it! Then suddenly she couldn’t see” the fan said.
“@Cmmonell she took her contacts out !! Of course it’s blurry dumba**!” Kelly wrote in response.
Another follower suggested that Shannon’s “over the top” reaction was just a ploy to make Kelly look bad.
“Kelly you can tell [Tamra Judge] and Shannon blew it out of proportion to make you look bad. Honestly so over tamra and shanon” the follower wrote.
“@hildaaaaa54 they continue to do so.. keep watching ????❤️❤️????” Kelly responded, coyly.
In another comment, Kelly agreed with a fan who joked about being “pissed” that Kelly didn’t “dong [Shannon] harder.” Kelly responded: “That’s what I said!!”
As fans already know, Kelly has been at odds with Shannon and many other castmates after they spread rumors about her using cocaine and taking part in a “train.” The Orange County housewife continues to deny both claims.
All this bowl and mallet talk left fans wondering how badly the now-infamous “bang” really hurt. And on Tuesday’s drama-packed episode of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen put the hit to the test! After placing the bowl on his guest Eileen Davidson‘s head, a former cast member of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she admitted that it didn’t really hurt.
The late-night clip got posted to the show’s Instagram page the following day, with the accompanying question, “Did that hurt at all?!” ????”
Shannon took the opportunity to set the record straight in the comment section of the post.
“Did this hurt or not”. Yes it did. I had a very heavy bowl on my head with no padding and was hit with a heavy mallet. I have never had a lump on the top of my head or blurry vision in my life.” the mother-of-three wrote. “I was calm throughout the event and simply followed multiple peoples advice to get checked out in the abundance of caution…”
