Kathryn Dennis‘ messy custody battle with Thomas Ravenel has finally come to an end.
After reports regarding the details of the former couple’s agreement for their two kids were shared publicly, the Southern Charm cast member spoke out on her Instagram Story, confirming that she and Thomas will be sharing joint custody of five-year-old Kensington and four-year-old Saint Julien.
“Just want to let my fans hear from me officially that Thomas and I have resolved all matters related to our children,” she wrote. “I believe that this joint custody arrangement is in our children’s best interests and I am happy to move forward. Thank y’all for all of your patience, support and love.”
Kathryn also shared a photo of her two kids on Instagram and told her online audience that there were “nothin’ but blue skies ahead.”
Kathryn and Thomas settled their custody dispute on November 1, just under one year after Kathryn filed for sole custody of their children. As Southern Charm fans may recall, Kathryn made her request for sole custody after Thomas was arrested on charges related to the alleged sexual assault of their children’s former nanny, Dawn.
In September, Thomas pled guilty to third-degree assault and battery and was able to avoid spending time behind bars.
After Kathryn and Thomas’ custody battle was settled earlier this month, All About the Tea revealed that while the exes would be sharing joint custody, it was Thomas who was granted primary custody of the kids. It was also noted that Kathryn would be assisted by a nanny during her time with Kensington and Saint Julien, which would be paid for by Thomas.
Although Thomas is required to consult with Kathryn about decisions regarding their children’s education, extra-curricular activities, religion, and healthcare, he has the authority to make the final call on said issues, regardless of what Kathryn’s thoughts may be.
The new custody deal reportedly came shortly after an ex-boyfriend of Kathryn’s, Joseph Abruzzo, testified in court and alleged she had poor parenting practices.
