Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent is dishing on what it’s like to co-parent with fiancé Randall Emmett‘s ex-wife Ambyr Childers and opens up about how she was able to mend her relationship with Ambyr.
Like many of her other Vanderpump Rules costars, Lala and her fiancé Randall are getting ready to tie the knot! And while things between her and Randall’s ex, You actress Ambyr, were rocky at first, Lala is finally able to enjoy spending time with the estranged couple’s two children and is growing into her new stepmom role.
“We did everything we could to make sure that the babies did not know [about the drama],” Lala dished on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp‘s podcast, Teddy Tea Pod. “Now we are all in such a great place. Myself, their mom — it’s the happiest time in the entire world. It was like a Christmas miracle! It truly was. It’s just a breeze now. The kids are happy and that’s all you want.”
As fans likely already know, Lala was in hot water with Randall’s ex after she posted photos of her two daughters online without her permission. The two women then continued to feud, throwing jabs at one another online. But Lala revealed while on the podcast that she and Ambyr’s “ah-ha” moment over the holidays was all it took to smooth things over between them.
“Ambyr and I were not in a great place, and when we had the meeting before Christmas, there were tears that were shed, there were apologies,” Lala explained, choking back tears as she began talking about the girls. “I just basically thanked her because those girls that she brought into the world are like, my life is forever changed, forever better for them, and now she doesn’t have a problem.”
As fans can see on Lala’s Instagram, she’s always hanging out with her two stepdaughters and appears to have fully embraced her new role. But she’s the first to admit it wasn’t easy to get to this place.
“You know, coming in as a stepmom, you also don’t want to step on the biological mama’s toes,” continued the reality star. “That was a balance that I had to fight very hard to find.”
But now that drama between Lala and Randall’s ex has died down and everything is copacetic, it’s only natural that she’d start thinking about having her own kids with her soon-to-be husband. And according to the Bravo star, once those wedding bells ring, it’s baby-making time!
“I would’ve started yesterday, but Randall is like, ‘We have to be married for at least one year before we get it poppin’,” admitted Lala on the podcast alongside a seemingly anxious Randall. “And I’m like, okay, that’s nine months to make a baby so we can just get it poppin’ and you know, in a year the baby will be here!”
Lala and Randall reportedly plan to walk down the aisle in April 2020 in Newport Beach, California.
