Is Kenya Moore still planning to give baby Brooklyn a sibling?
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star opened up in a new interview about bringing a second child into her family with estranged husband Marc Daly, despite their issues.
“It’s a conversation that we’re still trying to figure out, honestly,” the 49-year-old reality star told Us Weekly. “But I really feel, more and more, that I do [want to]. Time is ticking, and I want them to be close in age and … it’s a sensitive subject.”
The haircare mogul noted that Marc, however, has some hesitations considering he has children other than Brooklyn he needs to care for.
“It’s scary for him too … because Brooklyn’s not his only child, so for him, it’s like, ‘Well, how many children will I have?’ So I think that is probably the biggest issue for him,” she explained. “But I don’t think he thinks he can love anyone more than he loves Brooklyn and his other children right now, so … I don’t know. They have a really strong, strong bond. And I think his fear is that, ‘What if the child comes and I don’t have this kind of bond with him because you didn’t carry her or we’re still figuring out our relationship?’”
Kenya confirmed that while she’s thinking about a second child, she’s also “seriously considering” using a surrogate since she faced complications with her first pregnancy. She’s currently awaiting test results to see if surrogacy is her “only option.”
The new mom also shared that despite their rocky relationship and recent separation, she and Marc are currently in Zoom therapy trying to work through their issues. She explained how she can’t wait to switch to in-person meetings to “dig a little deeper” into their problems in order to really sort through them.
“I want to fly to New York to see Marc. And for Brooklyn to see Marc,” she said, breaking into tears. “We miss him. We really miss him. It breaks my heart when Brooklyn goes around the house and says, ‘Daddy, Daddy,’ picks up his pictures and says ‘Daddy’ and stuff. It’s just heartbreaking.”
Kenya welcomed her baby girl in November 2018 and announced her separation from Marc in September 2019 after two years of marriage. Although rumors swirled about the restauranteur’s infidelity, Kenya maintained the couple was working on their relationship and hoped for a reconciliation.
