Gina Kirschenheiter and her ex, Matt Kirschenheiter, have come to an agreement amid their divorce battle.
As Gina and her co-stars continue to film the 15th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Gina has received a six-figure lump sum after she and Matt agreed that neither of them should have to pay the other child or spousal support.
According to court documents shared by The Blast, Gina and Matt reached a new deal recently in which they agreed to split the $467,127.39 in Matt’s investment account, with Gina being paid $231,563.70.
In 2019, a judge ordered Matt to pay $10,000 per month in child support to Gina for the three young children they share. However, Matt argued that because of Gina’s income increase, due to her RHOC gig, and his income decrease, she should be the one paying child support to him.
At the time of the 2019 ruling, Gina was given full custody of their kids with Matt having visitation.
As fans of RHOC may recall, Gina filed for divorce from Matt in 2018 after eight years of marriage, but she attempted to reconcile with him in the year that followed. Then, in June of last year, amid their final attempt at reconciling, Matt was arrested for domestic violence after an alleged altercation with Gina.
At the time of his arrest, Matt was charged with felony “corporal injury – on spouse/cohabitant” and felony “False imprisonment effected by violence, menace, fraud, or deceit.”
Matt eventually pleaded not guilty to the charges, which carry a total potential sentence of seven years. He is currently awaiting trial.
The Real Housewives of Orange County cast resumed filming on season 15 earlier this month after previously being shut down in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
