Lisa Vanderpump Says She Wouldn’t Have Fired Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute From Vanderpump Rules as She Believes People Can Learn, Says Stassi is Ignoring Her and Confirms "New Cast Members”

Lisa Vanderpump is “sad” and finding it “very difficult” to accept Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute‘s recent firings from Vanderpump Rules.

During a new interview, Lisa explained why she would have kept the girls on the show if it were up to her before admitting that Stassi has been ignoring her in the months since she was axed, plus she is confirming the addition of “new cast members” ahead of season nine.

“I think it’s sad, really, what happened, because I do think that people can learn from their mistakes,” Lisa told Entertainment Tonight on August 12. “We’re in this momentum of really people kind of standing up for what’s right, and I’m all about that and embracing that — and I do believe in zero tolerance for that — but I also believe that you can come back from that and you’re young and you can learn from it.”

While Lisa noted that Stassi and Kristen’s treatment of Faith Stowers was “totally inappropriate,” she said their firings have been “very difficult” to accept.

“If it were up to me, I would like to see them go on, but really have a better understanding of where they went wrong and really, you know — I’m not into just kind of getting rid of people, because they get it wrong. Otherwise, I’d probably have nobody working for me at this point,” Lisa explained. “I’m all about giving people second chances, yes, but also about holding people accountable.”

Following Bravo’s announcement regarding their decision to cut ties with Stassi and Kristen, as well as Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni, who joined the show last summer for season eight, Lisa attempted to contact Stassi but received no response.

“I’ve reached out to Stassi two or three times and I haven’t heard back from her and I really, you know, I do love them both,” Lisa shared, adding that she understands if Stassi prefers to focus on what is “a happy time in her life” rather than deal with the drama of her Pump Rules exit by chatting with Lisa.

Although a start date for production on Pump Rules season nine has not yet been confirmed, Lisa revealed that the upcoming episodes will be far more diverse than seasons past.

“There are new cast members!” she confirmed.

Lisa’s podcast, All Things Vanderpump, will launch sometime in the coming weeks.
