Celebrities are just like us… even when it comes to quarantine weight gain!
In a series of new, and very honest, posts shared on social media, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast members Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss have confirmed they put on some added pounds amid the ongoing quarantine. However, when it comes to their stances on the matter, the ladies are in very different places.
“183 lbs!!!” Kenya declared in a post shared on Instagram on September 16.
“The Quarantine has added 25lbs to my 5’10” frame. I don’t mind if you don’t mind,” she continued, adding the hashtag for “love the skin you’re in.”
After sharing the stunning photo of herself showcasing her curves in a form-fitting peach dress, Kenya was met with tons of love and support from her fans and followers, including The Real Housewives of New York City cast member Luann de Lesseps, who told Kenya she was “looking gorgeous.”
“Every women needs to see this!” a fan wrote. “This is girl power at its best. Your honesty is everything. As always, you look absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing Ms. Moore!”
Even actress Viola Davis weighed in, telling Kenya, “183 looks fabulous!!!”
Meanwhile, on Kandi’s Instagram Stories, she opened up about her quarantine struggles.
“So today is Wednesday the 16th of September. It’s my first day back to working out [and] I’ve gained 20 pounds since May,” Kandi began, along with a “20lbs???!!!” message and a shocked minion.
“At the beginning of COVID, I was working out and I was in shape. And even then, I wanted to lose 10 pounds,” Kandi continued.
According to Kandi, she was ready to focus on her fitness and slim down when the pandemic began, but after allowing herself to get “lax and comfortable,” she ultimately gained 20 pounds.
“So that means I have 30 pounds of which I would really like to lose. I just want to better myself overall. I just want to get used to making working out a part of my regular routine,” she explained, wondering in an additional message how she was going to get rid of the added weight.
While Kandi may have an uphill battle ahead of her, she isn’t alone.
“My cousin Patrick has volunteered to start working me out. He’s a trainer,” she revealed. “He got up and came to my house at 7 a.m. for us to work out and that’s going to be our regular time. So, I hope I can stick to this.”
Kenya, Kandi, and their Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars are currently in production on the series’ upcoming 13th season.
