Thomas Ravenel returned to filming on Southern Charm earlier this year after temporarily moving his ex-girlfriend, Kathryn Dennis, into his guest house.
Two years after Bravo cut ties with Thomas due to allegations of sexual assault brought against him, Thomas has confirmed that he filmed a scene with Kathryn months ago before sharing what that scene entailed and explaining why he agreed to rejoin production in the cameo role.
“I just let them film a little segment with the kids as a favor to Kathryn,” Thomas revealed to Us Weekly on October 19, adding that he never thought Bravo would actually include the footage in their upcoming seventh season.
According to Thomas, he wasn’t paid for his appearance on the reality series and only agreed to be seen on camera in an effort to prove that the children he shares with Kathryn, including daughter Kensington, 6, and son Saint, 4, had a safe space to live.
“I wasn’t paid. At the time, she was staying at my house in the guest room because her house was being painted and was unsafe for her and the kids,” Thomas shared.
As Southern Charm fans may recall, Kathryn was granted joint custody with Thomas in August 2019. A few months later, she shared that she and her former boyfriend were in a good place.
“We actually have a great coparenting relationship. It’s good for him, it’s good for me,” she said during an appearance at BravoCon. “We’re moving forward, which is the first time I’ve said that in a long time and it feels good.”
Although Bravo has not yet confirmed Thomas’ cameo role on season seven, he was mentioned in the trailer for the new episodes.
“Thomas got a girl pregnant and she’s having the baby,” Kathryn tells Danni Baird in the sneak peek.
Thomas’s scene will allegedly air during the Southern Charm season seven premiere on Thursday, October 29, at 9/8c on Bravo.
