Meghan King Edmonds is currently suffering from COVID-19.

In a series of posts shared to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, November 15, the former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member confirmed her diagnosis and revealed her three kids are currently in the care of her former husband, Jim Edmonds, before dishing on her symptoms and treatment and fighting back against backlash over her potential carelessness.

“I tested positive for Covid,” Meghan wrote in her first message to fans.

“I have been safe while traveling [to Miami] but I had an exchange on Tuesday where I did not protect myself and this is when I had to have been infected,” Meghan revealed. “I have been safe with distancing and masks since Tuesday including when I went to dinner solo and stayed distant and wore a mask at Hayes’s soccer. My kids have been at their father’s but Hayes will quarantine due to brief (1 hour) proximity to me. I have contacted everyone and will isolate for 10 days minimum per CDC guidelines. My children will have to stay with my parents as they cannot stay at my house while I’m sick.”

In a second post, Meghan told her followers how she was feeling and described her symptoms.

“I am feeling poorly but I am ok. I went in to be tested mainly due to extreme lethargy, but I just knew I was positive. I don’t have a fever. I do have extreme exhaustion, sneezing, a mild cough, and diarrhea. I think I’m losing my sense of smell,” she shared.

Meghan then said she was treating the virus with vitamins, “tons of rest, water, and food delivery.”

After sharing her diagnosis, Meghan faced backlash from one fan in particular who believed the former RHOC star had acted carelessly while infected.

“Why didn’t you stay home knowing covid was getting worse?” the person asked.

“I did stay home! Let me make myself very, very clear. The millisecond I thought I could have something other than a cold I went and got tested,” Meghan replied. “I would NEVER go out in public whilst even believing in the slightest I could have Covid. But even when I believed I was healthy I still social [distanced] and wore masks while in public (unless I was in my bubble). I believe I caught it at the very beginning before normal symptoms developed. I don’t even have a fever.”
