Erika Jayne is reportedly upset with the way she has been portrayed thus far on season 11 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as she believes the show’s editing is fueling fan criticism of her.

As fans well know, Erika is currently in the middle of a huge scandal as her estranged husband Thomas Girardi has been accused of embezzling millions of dollars from clients — including orphans and widows — in order to fund the couple’s lavish lifestyle. The reality star has also been dragged into several lawsuits herself as many believe she was complicit.

Though Erika has maintained she was clueless about Thomas’ alleged misdeeds, she’s reportedly extremely concerned about her future and what the scandal could mean for her career.

“Erika is not happy with the editing on Real Housewives as she thinks it is exacerbating the public’s criticism of her spending,” a source told The Sun on June 30. “She’s flaunted her wealth on the show for years, along with Tom, and now it’s coming back to bite her amid the embezzlement scandal.”

The insider went on to say that Erika is “a tough cookie” but she’s still “struggling emotionally” despite what some fans may believe.

“Despite her defensive posts on social media, she is worried about the case, how her appearance on the show will affect her, and her future,” the source alleged. “She loves Real Housewives and it’s pretty much all she has left right now as her career hangs in the balance, but she’s facing a huge backlash.”

In addition, the “Pretty Mess” singer is also seemingly paranoid about information investigators may be gathering from the show.

“Erika is concerned that anything she says or does on camera will be used against her in the lawsuits,” the insider added. “Her lawyers are fighting hard to keep details of her finances under wraps, but those who believe her career was funded on the back of trauma want to see it all.”

It is true that everything Erika has done or said on the show is currently being scrutinized, which attorney Ronald Richards — who was hired to investigate Erika and Thomas’ assets — has previously shared.

“We will be transcribing every word. The show does not provide immunity to its talent,” Ronald tweeted in May.

This latest information comes on the heels of a separate report that alleged that Erika is “embarrassed” about the fact that she and Thomas never actually owned the private jet she often boasted about on the show.

“Erika is so embarrassed. She loved to flaunt her riches on TV, and now it’s come back to bite her,” an insider told Life & Style. “Who knows what other lies the investigators will uncover?”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 11 airs Wednesday nights on Bravo at 8/7c.
