Karen Huger is denying claims of having stolen Dr. Wendy Osefo‘s idea for a candle line.
Following the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac, which featured Wendy appearing to be caught completely off-guard by the news of Karen’s business, Karen revealed some background information about her company on Instagram before targeting Gizelle Bryant on Twitter.
“Hello My La’Dames…The truth is… everyone knew I was coming out with a home fragrance candle and gift set, doesn’t surprise me at all that Wendy forgot but that’s ok,” Karen wrote on August 29.
According to Karen, Wendy actually came to her for business advice. And, despite the fact that she was already in the midst of launching her own candle business, Karen offered her just that.
“Wendy came to me for biz advice and I will always be there to support a sister! I walk in my truth, La’Dame by Karen Huger began [three] years ago with discovery + development + a powerful plan! Locked and Loaded! I launched with a fragrance and shared Sky’s the limit for La’Dame!! Fragrance, Wigs, Candles & Home.. this is a multi billion dollar industry; there is room at the table,” Karen added.
Meanwhile, on Twitter, after butting heads with Gizelle throughout the episode over a number of things, including Gizelle making shady comments about her dancing, Karen suggested Gizelle was losing friends and deflecting by constantly coming after her and her relationship with husband Ray Huger.
“Last we all checked, you are the one in this circle of beautiful and powerfully intelligent women who’s friends are dropping like flies! Deflect much?” she asked.
Karen also addressed the “weak b-tch” comment Mia claimed Gizelle made about Wendy (but didn’t actually make) by suggesting that Mia’s version of the story was indirectly accurate.
“‘Weak B-tch’ or ‘if you gonna crumble!’ The message was the same. I’m with my girl [Mia Thornton]. …she is still bad-mouthing Wendy behind her back!” Karen noted of Gizelle.
“I agree…but what do I know,” Mia replied.
