Kanye West reportedly cheated on Kim Kardashian following the births of their two oldest children, North, 8, and Saint, 5.
According to a couple of new reports, Kanye, 44, opened up on his new song, “Hurricane,” about his alleged unfaithfulness to the 40-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians cast member as well as his alleged struggles with alcohol abuse. However, despite the seemingly telling track, Kim isn’t shutting the door on a reconciliation.
“The song is in a way his testimony of everything he did wrong and taking accountability for their marriage breakdown,” one insider revealed to Page Six on September 1.
On Kanye’s latest album, Donda, he raps, “Here I go actin’ too rich / Here I go with a new chick / And I know what the truth is / Still playin’ after two kids / It’s a lot to digest when your life always movin’.”
While the source confirmed the “chick” Kanye spoke of was not Irina Shayk, who he dated briefly earlier this year, they went on to add that the lyrics appeared to refer to “his infidelity during his marriage with Kim, even after two kids.”
Also in “Hurricane,” Kanye alludes to not going home to his wife and their multimillion-dollar mansion.
“Architectural Digest, but I needed home improvement / Sixty-million-dollar home, never went home to it. Genius gone clueless, it’s a whole lot to risk / Alcohol anonymous, who’s the busiest loser?” he asks.
Although a potential affair — or affairs — was surely hurtful for Kim, the report went on to say that Kanye’s supposed cheating was not the straw that broke the camel’s back for Kim, who welcomed two more kids, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2, with Kanye before filing for divorce in February after just under seven years of marriage.
According to a second report, Kim is not only unconcerned with Kanye’s alleged past affairs, but she was actually “open” to the idea of getting back together.
“Kim is not rushing the divorce,” a source told E! News on September 1. “She and Kanye are in a good place right now and she is not on a rushed timeline to push the divorce forward.”
In recent weeks, Kim and Kanye have been spotted together in San Francisco with their kids and in Malibu on a lunch date. And, as the insider explained, they “are finally in a great place.”
“Kanye has expressed that he wants her back, and Kim is open to it, but wants to focus first on rebuilding their foundation and friendship back stronger,” the source continued, adding that Kim is “really happy” they are on good terms, especially “for the sake of the kids, who are really close to their dad.”
Keeping Up With the Kardashians came to an end in June 2021 after 20 seasons on the E! Network.
