Heather Rae Young is speaking out about the fight between Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack on the set of their HGTV series, Flip or Flop.
During a new interview, the Selling Sunset cast member, 33, who became engaged to Tarek, 40, in July 2020, suggested that when it came to the exes’ spat, it may not have been as out of the ordinary as people thought.
“People have to remember they’re coworkers and they are exes,” Heather told Us Weekly on Thursday, September 9. “There’s going to be little frustrations here and there.”
In July, TMZ claimed Tarek slammed Christina, 38, as a “washed-up loser” and compared her to his younger fiancee.
“It’s called winning,” he supposedly screamed. “The world knows you’re crazy!”
Tarek and Christina were married for nearly a decade, from 2009 to 2018, and share two kids, including daughter Taylor, 10, and son Brayden, 5.
“There’s a lot going on in all of our worlds, and there’s only so much that the world sees,” Heather continued. “It’s blown over, and everyone’s moving on. Like I said, it’s just exes that work together, and things come up sometimes.”
Although Tarek and Christina may have endured some ugly moments on set, Heather insisted that Tarek and Christina have done their best to maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship with one another.
“I want the kids happy the most,” she explained. “We put everything aside, and we focus on the kids. I stay out of their business, and … we really focus on the kids’ happiness and health at our house. We’re not super involved with what happens over at [Christina’s] house.”
Following her split from Tarek, Christina went on to marry Ant Anstead in December 2018. Then, after confirming plans for divorce less than two years later, she moved on with her current boyfriend, and rumored fiancé, Joshua Hall.
Selling Sunset is expected to return to Netflix soon for a fourth season.
