Charlie Sheen is claiming both of his daughters with his ex-wife Denise Richards are now living with him full-time.
Over a month after the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s oldest daughter, 17-year-old Sami Sheen, claimed she was “trapped” in an “abusive” home before moving in with her dad, Charlie appeared in court as a judge granted his request to stop paying child support to Denise.
“I think what transpired today is extremely fair,” Charlie told Us Weekly after his hearing on October 4. “It speaks to not just today, but it speaks historically to that same fairness.”
Charlie initially requested a change to his child support agreement with Denise in December 2019. And, according to Judge Alexander Giza, Denise, who also shares 16-year-old Lola Sheen with Charlie, never filed any opposing paperwork.
During the hearing, Charlie’s attorney, Gregory Pedrick, requested that Charlie’s child support be canceled, claiming the actor has had full custody of both girls since April. Although Denise and Charlie previously agreed to share 50/50 custody, that arrangement allegedly changed earlier this year.
While Denise wasn’t present during the hearing, an insider claimed the reason behind her absence was trickery.
She was “working out of state, which Charlie was well aware of,” an insider explained. “Denise was never served this court date… [Charlie] did this on purpose [so she wasn’t able to be there].”
“He filed two years ago and he kept pushing the court date,” the source continued. “Denise kept asking when the date was and he blew her off. He pushed it off because he didn’t want records of the child support he was paying Brooke [Mueller] to impact the case after he agreed to pay them both the same amount of child support.”
Although Charlie’s attorney claims he’s been overpaying in monthly support for his girls and set up a $1.2 million trust for the two of them, the insider said he “hasn’t paid Denise in at least four years.”
“He owes her. Also Lola lives with Denise,” the source insisted, noting that Lola does spend time with Charlie if Denise is working.
In addition to Charlie being let off of his future child support responsibilities, he was also let off of his past responsibilities, dating back to April 1, 2021, when he allegedly began caring for Sami and Lola full-time.
Last month, an insider stated that Denise was “incredibly saddened” by Sami’s decision to move in with Charlie.
“Denise is just like any other divorce parent dealing with a rebellious teenage daughter,” the source shared. “It’s better for Sami if Denise and Charlie were coparenting her during this time. They are not.”
Meanwhile, a second insider said Denise wants Sami and Lola to have “boundaries,” which are reportedly few and far between with Charlie.
“Charlie is the good time dad, and well, rules and curfew aren’t really set in stone,” the insider added. “And that is why Sami went to live with her dad.”
