Meghan King and Cuffe Owens “just knew.”
After shocking fans with marriage news on Monday, the Real Housewives of Orange County alum looked back on her whirlwind romance with Cuffe, the nephew of President Joe Biden. She also opened up about their big day, which was held at Cuffe’s childhood home in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
“We connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke,” Meghan told Brides. “By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours. Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family, and starting to plan our future together.”
Going into their big day, which was held on Cuffe’s parents’ wedding anniversary, Meghan, 37, and Cuffe, 42, wanted “no major frills, no overthinking, [and] no drama.” So they enlisted family, including Cuffe’s mom, Valerie Biden, and his sisters, Missy and Casey, to host.
“Our wedding was about two things for us,” Meghan explained. “Our love for and commitment to each other, and our family—each of our families, and the new very large and very tight family that we were bonding together by getting married.”
Even Meghan’s wedding dress, a blazer dress from Rasario, was simple.
“I bought thousands of dollars worth of dresses online—everything from traditional gowns to cocktail dresses off the rack. And, breaking from tradition, I tried all of them on for Cuffe to see,” Meghan recalled. “We both found ourselves getting caught up in expectations of tradition with the dress when I just decided to wear what felt most like ‘me.’ I had my dry cleaner pin back the lapels et voilà! My wedding dress was complete.”
As 50 guests, including President Biden and his wife, Jill, looked on, Meghan’s father walked her down the aisle. Her three kids, four-year-old daughter Aspen and three-year-old twin sons Hayes and Hart, served as her and Cuffe’s wedding party.
Along with her interview with Brides, Meghan posed for a series of photos with husband Cuffe and her kids.
With a nearly identical photo to the one seen above, Meghan told her fans and followers on Instagram, “We just knew. Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Owens.” She was immediately met with congratulatory messages from her online audience, including some of her former RHOC castmates.

As for when Meghan and Cuffe began dating, a report from Us Weekly claimed the couple knew each other for less than one month before tying the knot.
Prior to her marriage to Cuffe, Meghan was married to Jim Edmonds from 2014 to 2019 and to Brad McDill from 2007 to 2011.
Meghan and Cuffe are planning to honeymoon in Glacier National Park.
