Kelly Dodd is further explaining why she recently deemed Heather Dubrow a liar.
After calling out her former Real Housewives of Orange County co-star on her Instagram page, slamming comments she made in Dave Quinn‘s new book, Not All Diamonds and Rosé: The Inside Story of The Real Housewives from the People Who Lived It, as bullsh-t, Kelly is highlighting exactly what she believes Heather was dishonest about.
In a statement shared with Reality Blurb, Kelly pointed out that Heather suggested she was “Teflon” after mentioning Kelly “talks about Black people, she talks about ISIS,” and “she talks about Jews.”
Looking back on the Iceland trip in which this took place, Kelly pointed out that Heather was referring to a conversation she had with ex-castmate Peggy Sulahian during season 12 — when Heather was not a part of the show.
“She wasn’t there. She claimed she never watched the show after she left so was she lying about that? Or is she lying now by weighing in on something she didn’t hear or see?” Kelly wondered. “And what does she even mean here? Why is she attacking me for talking ‘about Black people’? It’s vague and intentionally defamatory and doesn’t refer to anything specific or real. Ask any of my former castmates if I ever talked badly about black people. They’ll tell you I did not! She’s a liar.”
Kelly also mentioned that Heather seemingly lied about her exit from the show. As fans will recall, Heather suggested to E! News months ago that she left RHOC because “the culture of the show was changing and it wasn’t really in line with” who she was and what she felt comfortable with.
Heather also said in her 2017 exit statement to Bravo that she decided not to return to the show “after a lot of careful thought and deliberation” and because she wanted to do what was best for her family and her career. But now, years later, Kelly claims Heather “basically [confirmed] she lied about her exit” in the book.
“Nowhere in her explanation did she reveal she wasn’t asked back as a full-time cast member, but instead was only offered a friend role, so she either lied to E! and everyone else or decided to deliberately hide from the public her shame at being demoted,” Kelly stated.
In the book, Heather said, “I was sitting around and waiting for them to call with my offer. And when they did, it was for a reduced role. I went back and sat down with them and said, ‘For me, I either have to be all in or all out.’ And that’s how I left.”
According to Heather, she pissed off producers by “shutting down, pulling back,” and refusing to show up to certain events.
“I didn’t want the cameras in my house. I didn’t want to show up for certain events. I stopped telling my personal story,” Heather explained.
“Does this sound like someone who left because the culture of the show had changed and she didn’t want to be a part of it anymore?” Kelly said in response. “She’s a liar! If she was so worried about the culture, why was she sitting there waiting for them to call with an offer? Why was she only willing to come back for a full-time role when she now claims she wasn’t comfortable with the show’s tone and direction? She’s directly contradicting herself! Proof she’s a liar.”
Kelly also fired back at Heather’s suggestion that she refused to allow Bravo to film her as she sang the National Anthem at Angel Stadium in 2016.
“This is BS too! It’s not up to her whether Bravo or Evolution films at Angel Stadium,” Kelly stated. “It’s up to the team and MLB! My friend Arte Moreno owns the team! They issue the credentials and can sign on or off to camera crews shooting pre-game or game footage or special events. If Bravo wanted to film it, they didn’t need her permission.”
“She’s full of herself and full of sh*t and by the way, I’ve spoken with several of the current cast members who tell me you’ll see many more lies from her throughout this next season, which absolutely does not surprise me,” she added.
In June, as it was announced that Kelly would not be a part of the upcoming 16th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, it was also confirmed that Heather would be returning to her position on the Bravo series.
