Lisa Barlow spoke out about the content of Sunday night’s new episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on Twitter as the show aired.
As rumors continued about Mary Cosby‘s church, with Lisa seemingly acting as middleman between Mary and the other ladies, Lisa reacted to a comment Mary made about Mexican people, fought back against claims of “snake” behavior, and looked ahead to the upcoming season two reunion.
“[Lisa Barlow] and for you not to correct [Mary Cosby] when she said the comment about Mexican [people] when you profit off a Tequila company based in Mexico that you own is gross! You should be ashamed,” a fan wrote to Lisa on December 5 of Mary’s statement regarding Mexican people and “thugs.”
“She should be ashamed,” Lisa replied. “I didn’t say it and am not aligned with this. I address it. Keep watching.”
After being compared to Jen Shah during the show, Mary made a controversial statement about Mexicans to Lisa.
“It’s not fair to put me with someone so… Like, when I think about Jen I see a heartless… I see a thug. Like, you know, those Mexican people that make all those drugs,” Mary said.
Because Lisa engaged in the ladies’ chat about Mary’s church before going to Mary and informing them of what she said, many, including her RHOSLC castmates, believed Lisa was being two-faced.
“[Lisa Barlow] said ‘the way they’re [the women] talking’ about Mary- when SHE was the one who brought up the news articles, blogs, and YouTube videos? Sweetie this is snake behavior,” one Twitter user pointed out.
But Lisa suggested that not all of her conversation with Mary was seen.
“I spoke to Mary about ALL OF IT- sorry you didn’t get to see it BUT it was all discussed,” Lisa explained.
“You were talking about Mary with them, and then went to tell Mary they were talking sh-t. We watched it babe,” another viewer wrote.
“Go rewatch. I told Mary EVERYTHING I said I also asked Heather and Whitney to stay and listen and talk it out,” Lisa fired back. “Mary even addresses that I brought up The mortgage and other online rumors. They didn’t want to hear it. Go rewatch the last episode.”
Someone else feared for what Lisa would have to own up to once she and her co-stars faced off at the reunion.
“The reunion is gonna be brutal for Lisa,” the person suspected.
But Lisa was unconcerned.
“I’m good,” she insisted.
Also on Twitter, Lisa interacted with a man who refuted claims of Lisa “orchestrating” the Cameron drama, in which her late friend made shocking allegations against Mary’s church while also revealing he mortgaged his home to invest in the organization, by suggesting she wouldn’t have spoken about it to Mary if that were the case.
“Mary knows I was friends with Cameron before I met her. He’s the reason I know her. I said it at the [Fresh Wolf] event; I keep them separate out of respect for them both,” Lisa explained.
Then, after the man responded, saying, “That’s my point! It doesn’t add up that you would be open with Mary but running a side hustle on her?!?! They are reaching for straws to make you a villain,” Lisa confirmed he’s correct.
“Bingo,” she replied.
