Lala Kent looked back at the Vanderpump Rules season nine reunion during an interview on Thursday.
Before explaining her decision to hire a private investigator to help her navigate her reentry into the dating pool in Los Angeles, Lala revealed she was actually “mortified” by the way Brock Davies treated her during the taping and said she knew he would be “wrecked” by viewers because of it.
“I thought it was very telling about his character. I was actually mortified for him,” Lala admitted to Gibson Johns on In the Know on February 10. “And the Give Them Lala squad handled him like, once that came out, bring the dogs out. I didn’t even need to say anything. But I thought it was gross.”
That said, Lala acknowledged that Brock did reach out to her and apologize after filming wrapped, which she’s “always appreciative of,” and she said she’s “let it go” because she understands where he was coming from.
“If anyone knows about reacting off of hurt, it’s definitely me. And when someone says they’re sorry to me, I can definitely let it go. But if you take me back to the place when I had just seen it, there were a few comments that he made that not only was I grossed out by, but I’m like, you’re going to get wrecked by the audience,” she shared.
During another interview, the Pump Rules cast member revealed that due to being “damaged,” and the past “trauma” she’s faced due to her former fiancé Randall Emmett‘s alleged cheating, she took a page out of Meredith Marks‘ book and hired a P.I.
“I will never welcome someone into my life again without a full background check, and I mean in-depth,” Lala said during an Amazon Live chat on Tuesday, via Us Weekly. “I got to see what your credit is. I need to know your family history. I need to know everything you’ve been involved with. I’m going deep.”
“I now have, like, this PI guy who I just randomly send people to. I’m like, ‘Hey, before I go anywhere with this person, I’m going to need to know his story,’” she continued.
Lala then admitted that because she was so heartbroken by Randall’s reported infidelity, she’s actually blocked out several parts of their years-long relationship.
“This could be the trauma — I don’t remember anything about my relationship. I don’t remember any good moments. I can only remember the demise of it, so maybe that’s my mind trying to protect me,” she explained.
