Mia Thornton appears to be facing a potential cancer diagnosis.
As fans await good news regarding the upcoming seventh season of The Real Housewives of Potomac, they’ve gotten anything but that from the series’ newest star, who took to Instagram on Friday to reveal that she’s been in and out of hospitals for days.
“Same time last week, Doc called at 7:31am — Mia I’m so sorry but your test results came back and I need you to go to Johns Hopkins Cancer Center today,” Mia began in an emotional post shared with her fans and followers on February 25. “You can only imagine the overwhelming amount of emotion [husband Gordon Thornton] and I endured trying to figure out why.”
Although Mia is in the midst of struggle, she told her online audience that she’s doing her best to stay strong.
“Even with such terrible news, I felt an extreme amount of peace and energy instilled that allowed me to remain strong. I’ve been in and out of visits to specialists every day and the storm is not over but this experience is changing me,” she explained. “I know God has a plan and I know we are often challenged to remain humbled that tomorrow is not promised and that our days on this earth are numbered.”
Mia concluded her statement to fans, saying, “A message from my heart. A gentle reminder to Live, Love & Forgive as if today was your last… Be great Kings & Queens.”
After sharing her post, Mia was quickly met with hundreds of supportive messages, a number of which came from her fellow Real Housewives stars, including her RHOP co-star, Robyn Dixon.
“Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong mama,” Robyn wrote.
“Keeping [you] in my prayers,” added Sheree Whitfield, of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, as Real Housewives of New York City star Eboni K. Williams posted two praying hands emoji and two hearts.
Monique Samuels weighed in as well.
“Sending prayers and healing power your way,” the former RHOP cast member stated.
The Real Housewives of Potomac is expected to return to Bravo sometime later this year for season seven.
