Vanderpump Rules' Brock Davies Talks Parenting Daughter Summer Moon With Scheana, Feels It's Him Versus Scheana, Her Mom and Sister

For Brock Davies, parenting his 15-month-old daughter, Summer Moon, with fiancée Scheana Shay isn’t always a walk in the park.

During a July episode of Scheana’s podcast, the Vanderpump Rules couple discussed parenting with her sister, Cortney van Olphen. And during the chat, the Australian-born rugby player admitted that because he and Scheana aren’t the only ones parenting the child, he often finds himself frustrated.

“I get so heated about my kid because this is my family dynamic,” Brock began on Scheananigans, via Heavy. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but there is this, my wife, her sister and her mother [Erika van Olphen] parenting [my child]… It’s not just me and Scheana teaching my kid, she is influenced by more than just myself and her mom, there is [Cortney], there is [her] mother, and Scheana.”

According to Brock, the added influences have made his parenting relationship with Scheana more challenging to navigate.

“I just get frustrated ’cause of the argument that comes up in our household is parenting and it’s my way verses Scheana and [her] mother’s way, plus half of [Cortney], so it’s like two and a half verse me and I’m stubborn,” he explained.

One particular issue he and Scheana, who are set to wed in Mexico later this month, don’t see eye-to-eye on is Summer’s fruit intake.

As Scheana shared during the episode, she choked on a grape as a child, and because of that, she’s now hesitant to feed her daughter certain foods.

“I still worry that she’s going to choke, not on everything, on grapes specifically, because I choked on a grape when I was a kid and I know that’s a trigger and that is what I’m working on in therapy,” Scheana revealed.

But Brock is confident because the child already has her molars.

“This is where I come from as a parent, yeah, I understand that they do choke… If you don’t learn how to choke as a kid, if you don’t know how to swallow as a kid, if you don’t learn the functionality of that… If you don’t teach your kid how to gag, they don’t know their gagging reflex to get food back out,” Brock reasoned.

And as he also stated, he finds it “100 percent just being neglectful” when parents do not allow their children to learn how to use that reflex.

Vanderpump Rules season 10 is currently in production.
